You're going to have to take the camera into a camera shop to have the lens cleaned. There are special tools and other items that you need to have to take the lens apart and put it back together. I would phone around to different camera stores in your area to see what they would charge you to do the cleaning as it will probably vary quite a bit from shop to shop.
Hi,
This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed due to dust or sand enters the camera. What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
or.......
May be battery is not holding charge or possibly loose contact between the camera & battery terminal, Make sure that your battery is fully charged.
You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.
Thanks...!!

This problem can be due to some dust or sand particles getting stuck in the lens assemble. Give a gentle whack to the camera to get that relived. Else you will have to disassemble the camera to get this fixed. IF you need assistance in that let me know. Else you can opt going to a service center.
You download the file just like you download your pictures. As long as you have a player on your computer capable of playing it back, all you have to do is double-click on the image.
You have a problem. Sand is very destructive and may make the lens completely unusable, and can lead to broken parts internally. The only way now to fix this camera is to send it to a professional, if Canon, to Canon repair. The lens needs to be completely disassembled and cleaned thoroughly.
Since the lens has extremely small parts, and may not be able to be taken apart and put back together very easily, a repair is the best option here.
As a precaution never take a digital camera in an environment which has sand, or water, especially salt water. If you do, take extra time to put the camera in either a self-zipping locking kind of bag or a padded bag.
If you treat the digital camera with carefulness, and also like you are handling eggs...meaning it can break easily, you will get good service from most any one. It is true, however things happen internally, and can cause problems as well.
salt is electrically conductive when in fluid (water) so when it happened i hope you pulled out the battery and protected the delicate lenses.
a digital cam, is very delicate but their are companys that repair water damaged goods like mobile phones etc! just look them up in the yellow pages etc... avoid trying to switch it on until it gets repaired, but the mem card should still be fine depending on how long it was wet for!
good luck!
Before starting disassembling your camera, try to Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem.
In any case it could not make it worse
Good luck!
