Question about Seagate HDD 40GB 7200RPM ATA100 2MB (ST340014AP) Hard Drive
Hi All, my HDD was a seagate 40G, I have a problem of formatting the hard disk, I tried using the set-up disk to format but can't, it was in NTFS but I want to use the FAT disk format to use in my Windows 2000 OS, please help...thanks so much!
Hi, maybe the easiest way for you to format this drive would be if you could attach it as a secondary drive in a pc that is currently working and then try formatting it in the desired format from within windows. Windows will recognize a drive it only needs to format it in order to access it for data storage. You may need to change the jumper setting to slave on the HDD before you plug it in.
If you need any help with this just let me know.
