My Panasonic ''Genius'' Sensor 1250W microwave has worked flawlessly for several years. I am meticulous about keeping it clean inside. Three days ago it developed a rhythmic, repetitive little ''chug'' when the ''start'' button is pressed, and it cycles off after exactly 5 seconds. We have unplugged it and plugged it in again; no difference in the problem. Can I do anything else myself? Can it be repaired? Thanks!

what's happening:
If so, see http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt , http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt and http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt
Otherwise, if
the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback
signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will
stop the cook cycle.
That may be a loose connection in the wiring between the
inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of
those
components has failed.
Due to the lethal
voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an
inexperienced person work on these.

My Genius sensor 1250w does the beeping cycling through the power level thing before shutting down with all 8s on the display. Then, after ten or fifteen minutes, it will start cycling through the power levels again. I can reset it by unplugging it and then plugging back in, pressing the stop button, opening the door, pressing the start button until it beeps, pressing stop 3 times, holding start until the buzzer sounds, and then pressing stop once. This will allow me to cook something. After that, it will eventually (~30 mins) start the power level cycling thing again. What is going on and how do I fix it?
