Installed win 7 but want restore to xp

To reinstall win XP from usb flash drive you need WIndows XP cd, 1 gb flash drive and Novicorp WinToFlash. Download WinToFlash to your computer and follow instructions to transfer Windows XP from cd to flash drive, After that boot your notebook from usb device and select "TXT Mode Setup Windows XP, Never unplug USB-Drive Until After Logon" then install win xp normally, but format C partition. After first start of your notebook boot again from flash drive in "TXT Mode Setup Windows XP, Never unplug USB-Drive Until After Logon". Now windows is starting, go to start/my computer right click on it and go to properties in this windows go to advanced tab and there go to startup and recovery, click on settings, in new window go to edit tab and in new window change the line "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect" after windows XP write the type of your XP Professional, Home Edition, or Media Center. Now you can remove usb flash drive and boot normally from hdd.

HP Pavillion dv9000 will not boot up in normal mode, only safe.

Have you tried an XP repair?
Then you can save your data .
XP repair
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Win XP Home no longer works, won't boot from cd/or hd

You have a virus most likely. You will need to boot with an antivirus cd & let it scan & repair the virus damage. After this is done you should have control of your system again. Hope this helps.

Cannot Boot

Removing the cmos battery isn't always enough to reset the bios you may need to find the 'JBAT1' terminal on the mobo and put jumper across pins 2-3 then back to 1-2. But it may be a faulty mobo where the charger connects to the board.
