Reformat your system.. always partition your hdd into 2 parts,, the os on one partition and your files on another,, so that anytime your system is in trouble,, you can reformat it without worries...
there must have been a virus in your system or there was something wrong in the installation of your os..
if this doesn't work,, maybe it is a serious hardware problem...

Can't boot up Acer 1641 WLMi. Sometimes I get the Acer logo on screen, other times screen is completely dark. When the Acer logo does come on, I see F2 option listed on bottom of screen but it doesn't...

Hold the f2 key down and keep it down... It will bring you to the bios which will allow you to boot in safe-mode or by using rescue cd or partition in your hard drive. Your hard drive may have problems or has crashed.

My Acer laptop just crashes randomly..i used to have vista, but once it started to crash on vista i installed XP thinking it would stop the didnt. now i cant install Vista for some reason.....

Acer usually has a hidden partition which allows you to reinstall the OS back to factory setting. When you boot hold down the ALT + F10 button and it should boot into the recovery disk

At the beginning of the boot, try pressing Alt-F10 (it might be another key, like F10 or F2 or DEL). It will go into the recovery partition.

My acer aspire 1691 WLMi has suddenly started opening up on its data drive instead of the usual c drive. I cannot do a system restore as it only logs on to the last time I switched the computer on and it...

Unplug the data drive and reboot. F2 should work, check the bios and see if U'r C drive is there. It sounds like the C drive has crashed. If the data drive is internal, check U'r Cdrive data and power cables.

Factory resore

Mark if you have the Acers restore or rescue disks, you should be able to use these to get your system back up and running.
I,d suggest your problem/conflict With your Application Crash is an incompatable program with vista.

The Only other suggestion i have, is to boot the computer with Vista in the CD/DVD Drive, and re-install over the top of your existing system.

Alternative is to Install Windows XP, More reliable Tried And Tested. And definately more Compatable with Software.
