When you disconnect/replace a car battery, your radio anti-theft security system will be triggered: consult your car user manual on how to reset the anti-theft security for your particular radio/audio system: you will need to enter a specific 'security code' that should have been provided when your car or car audio system was bought.

I have a 2003 VW GTI. Engine power cuts out intermittently. Finally car started to sputter and die. Now it won't start. I Suspect the Fuel pump but cannot find any information on replacing it. ...

Hi the fuel pump is located under the back seats , and under the flap of carpet is a round disc with three screws ! And underneath that you will find a big plastic ring which holds the fuel pump !! They are easy to take out and replace plug and play really ;) Disconnect the battery !! First and be careful please !! Good luck

I just bought a 01 vw gti with a 20v turbo from a guy paid a 100$ it had a dead battery charged it up It acts like there is no power going to the starter or ele. since the windows, lihgts, ac fan wont...

I would suspect corroded connections at the battery or the battery needs replacing. It takes very little voltage to run the battery and dash lights, but lots more to run everything else. Remove the battery, clean the connections, and then charge the battery. Take the battery to an auto parts store and have it tested.

What kind of aftermarket dash kit do I need to

A dash kit is not needed, just a little modelling but not hard at all. The Factory double din radeo is a little taller than 4in so you need to space it out with a slim piece of mdf on the top and bottom of the new radio cage. Then the trim plate around the screen will fill all gaps perfectly.

02 VW GTI Radio says CHECK

This worked for me (radio in 2003 VW Golf):
Radio says "CHECK" but is otherwise unresponsive. Turning car or radio on/off doesn't help.
On the far right of the radio, there's a round TUNER button. Press it for 5 seconds. Your screen will then show some digits, but the unit is still unresponsive.
Press tuner button again for 5 seconds. Radio should now be 100% again. Let me know if this works for you.
