Most Dyson cleaners have a thermal cut-out to protect
the motor from overheating in the event of a restriction to the airflow. So, if anything causes it to overheat, it will
switch off. If this happens, leave the cleaner switched off for at least two
hours, as it will not start again until it has cooled down.
The most common cause of a
cut-out is that the cleaner has a blockage or the filter needs washing. A high room temperature may also trigger
it. Before you continue vacuuming,
ensure the filter is clean and there are no blockages. You can download the user guide at www.dyson.co.uk/support/. Just click on ‘Get Expert Help’ then ‘Using my Dyson product’ then ‘User Guide’.
