I had this problem on my A639 after going on holiday with it (I think the x-ray scanners did something to it). It started switching itself off more and more as the days went by until one day it went off and never came back. After resetting it, it just stayed on the blue "ASUS Rock Solid Heart Touching" screen. I was worried that it was totally broken and I'd have to pay to get it repaired, but after searching the internet it turned out all I needed to do was re-flash the ROM with a fresh copy (I used the latest ROM). It now works fine and no longer turns itself off... didn't cost me ANYTHING to fix :-)

Won't turn off/Stays on Startup Screen

if its in the waranty period, definiety get it repaird b4 that expires, other than that,
did u drop it or take it beyond it's thermal limits?(like snow or smwhere cold) coz that would probably mess up the device.
my best advice for faulty A639's, put a bit of paper in the batter compartment between the battery and the cover, if it get passt that point, when u do that, it's a lose connecting between your battery and the device(happend to mine, after the warenty expired). I also have a spare battery that carries a bit more of a kick than the original one and tends to jolt it out of most of the faults fot around half a week, until the gets used to it or smthing (I sware that its alive =P, i mean, it always knows what song i want to listn to when it's on shuffle on media player, but my laptop has no clue. maby thats jus me=D)
nyway, hope that helps

Garmin c330

You will need to reset the device.
1. On the silver faceplat, under the word "Garmin", there is a tab. Remove the silver-ish fram carefully by pulling on the tab with your nail then by the sides.
2. once removed, press the reset button.
3. Once reset, the unit should work properly.

Hardware buttons does not work anymore...

My Asus A639 is also frozen on the blue Heart of Technology screen AGAIN. None of the buttons work, hold button is not active, cannot switch it off. The first time it was fixed by Asus under warrantee - took 5 weeks. The freeze might be related to using GPS software Copilot V6 - not certain.

Help please - how do I do a total reset?
