Ipaq rx3115 Same problem, my Ipaq rx3115' touch screen won't respond; I soft reset, hard reset; I connected it to my computer, the computer sees it, creates an association, etc. The screen will not respond, it is just stuck on the align screen, screen, and it will not work. The battery light, when I plug it in, blinks; however, it blinks red, not amber. Then it stops and is steady state on, but, like I said, it is red, not amber.

If I understand correctly your problem, the touch screen of your PDA is not working.

Well, this is a common IPAQ failure. When happens, the only options to repair it are:

1. Soft reset of the PDA. If still does not work, then go to next step.

2. Replace the top digitizer glass.

It requires a very skillful person to do it. If you have not experience with fixing electronic devices, then I do suggest you to send it to repair.

Besides that is necessary to open it, you will require a soldering iron, and desolder the digitizer part and remove it from the LCD screen, which if is not done properly with the right tools, it's easy to damage the LCD screen assembly.

Also, if it's not opened right, is possible to damage permanently the mainboard if is bent or warped.

Also, even though there are a lot of cheap digitizer replacement parts on-line (mainly from China), they have a compatibility issue that prevents to use them in the RX3715 (or RX3115) PDAs.

I have nothing against Chinese manufactured parts, but after buy around 10 digitizers in the last couple of years for different Ipaq PDAs, I found out that only 3 worked fine, so I know what I am talking about.

Best regards,

I need a hard reset for my hp ipaq rx3115

Look at the very bottom of your iPAQ. Screen should be facing up. To the far left of the charger port there is a small black circle. Use a ball point pen, or other small diameter object, and insert the tip into the black hole to firmly but gently "tap" the button that is inset in the hole. This should activate a hard reset. Do not touch or otherwise mess with any buttons while the reset is in progress. Depending on what is loaded on your iPAQ this could take a few minutes.

Ipaq rx3115 frozen

Red LED light means a major problem at the charging of the battery.

You have several options to repair it:

1. Leave several hours the PDA with not battery and unplugged from the AC power adapter, then put the battery and leave charging it.

It's more likely that the red light will appears again, but leave plugged it. Sometimes will start charging and blinking with orange color after 30 minutes or so. After that, it will work normally.

2. Use other good working battery to test it.

3. If the above two steps fail, then there is a good chance that the mainboard has a problem, and needs to be fixed or replaced.

HP rx3115 hard reset

Had the same problem with my hp rx3115 . Worked fine, then the next day dead. power button, lower buttons, or outter reset button didn't work to turn it on. Okay so, i thought it just needed to recharge. Used computer cable for active synchronizing that also recharges, still dead. Then cable just for recharging. Finally comes on. Charged it all the way up, synchronized it, unplugged it, few minutes......dead. The battery is no good.

IPaq won 't respond to screen calibration.

So far no fixes. It's just been collecting dust. I think it's a screen response issue, and will probably cost more to fix than to replace (at least for me) in my situation. I'm thinking iPhone....

Ipaq rx3115 doesnt turn on!

I am guessing that you have made sure that it is fully charged. If it is, since you have only had it a week I would try a hard reset. I don't know if the 3115 has them but check to make sure that any battery door lock switches are locked.

Soft Reset

Just loaded a safe mode program to my iPAQ, and now it seems to reset without any problems, even when not connected to the sync cable.

IPAQ rx3115 would not bypass the screen aligning

I experienced the same problem with my rx3115 after having it for 3 days. It is working again, fortunately. I removed the battery from the device and left it alone for 24 hours. I then reinstalled the battery and connected the charger. When it powered up, it went through the initialization process in the same way that it did when I first used it. I hope this helps you out with your iPAQ.
