You could use a VGA to S-Video Cable or any combination you need.

After looking at the specs of the think pad T43 i think you need a new laptop. The port you need to transfer video from a computer is called S-video. Your laptop don't have it. Srry.

You could look into some sort of breakout box that you could plug into your VGA out port and from there to a TV. The VGA out port is for adding a stand alone monitor and is not compatible with most TV's.

Do you have to have cable tv to have netflix?

No, you do not have to have Cable TV in order to get the Netflix service. However, in order to watch Netflix you basically need to have an internet connection preferable of decent speed. You will also need a supported device that will let you watch Netflix.

The internet speed will ultimately determine whether you get quality video output on the device you intended to watch Netflix.

You can watch Netflix on your computer or you can use a device (generally now called a media device) that will allow for you to watch Netflix on your TV.

The Netflix app comes on many different media devices, which you essentially plug to you TV and connect to your home Internet connection.

Newer TV have the Netflix app built in to them as well as Internet. These TVs are referred to as Smart TV.

Right of the top of my head are the following Netflix capable devices Xbox 360, Roku, Wii...

Here are a list of other supported devices on Netflix's Website:

Won't show on TV after update

I would go into the laptops video configuration set up and see what different ways I could set up the HDMI output. For Windows 7 you Right click on the desktop and click Graphics Options / Output to / Digital Television... If you don't have WIN 7 just right click desktop and look for video options.

Motorola DCT6200 DVR. Can't find the serial number

I don't think the DCT6200 is a DVR (digital video recorder)
***no pause live tv and no record for play back later***
if there is no sticker try getting into the debug menu:
1) turn everything on as if it was working and your watching it
2) turn just the cable box off (not the tv) and begin mashing ok or select (however its labled) over and over
3) use the d-pad to select number 5 (i think) and push ok or select
5) your serial number is just below the middle of the list

you can use your cable remote or the buttons on the box to do these steps. I usually find it easier to use the buttons on the box

good luck

Lead from external harddrive to tv- to show films,--usb connection from harddrive to 15pin to tv

Dear ragalgey,
As far As I can remember, most TV design to receive the signal to watch whatever you want limited to available TV station in your local broadcaster.
If you think you connect your harddrive to TV USB or 15pin (VGA cable) then you can watch the movie file from harddrive is a totally wrong!
You need a drive or a player for those file that capable to configure your TV to play them. Or at least you need a PC or Laptop Computer that played your harddrive then send the images/video via Video Out Jack (Yellow) from your laptop, or connect the 15pin VGA jack from Laptop PC out then plug in to your TV. In this case you'll need the Jack/adapter to convert from 15pin VGA from laptop to available Video jack on your TV.
Good Luck!

Best Regards,

Sony Bravia KVL-V40A10 - pixelated lines top and bottom of screen

Are these lines visible regardless of what device (DVD player, cable box) you are watching?  If so, then yes, it appears the LCD panel is failing.  If you only see the lines watching one device, it could be the cable/wire or the device itself.  Now it can also be the related input jacks too so connect the device to another input to be sure.
