I can't get my wireless internet to work after a clean install. My Presario m2000 shows the Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC on device manager, but i am unable to get it up and running. I recently had to reinstall windows XP home edition due to a virus. i was unable to save any programs. I am trying to get my wireless internet back up. I am able to connect to a land line and get on the internet but there is nothing that helps me in the way of enabling a wirless device.

the device you saw in the device manager is for your cabled/ wired connection to the internet and not for your wireless connection. when in the device manager, do you see anything that has a big yellow question mark?

It looks as though this is equipped with a Broadcom WLAN card. Try going to this link for HP/Compaq put in the required information for product number then click on software/driver downloads. then follow the steps for installing the driver. That should do the trick after a clean install of the operating system.

Hello,
The driver you are downloading is the right one for your motherboard.

Can you be more specific on the type of issue you are having?
Do you see the led green and yellow on on the ethernet port?
Do you have an question mark under device manager?
Did you check if the Ethernet is enable in the BIOS settings?

Please let me know
