uC = a continuous unbalance condition of the wash load.
Because you are posting in the Fixya Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer forum I’m going to assume your machine type is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A.
For those machine types I feel you are experiencing a clutch malfunction. Can you confirm the machine model number and let me know if you want to try a DIY repair. You only need basic hand tools and skill sets to repair. See this post for what is involved and this a most recent post of a forum members repair for a dC error code condition in Spin Cycle which related to the uC error code in Spin Cycle.

The clutch needle bearings may need to be lubed, this was my fix;
I just did a repair on my FAV6800AAW by lubricating the needle bearings in the clutch pulley hub, the tub displacement sensor checked OK per the service manual check. I was getting dc/uc errors in the spin cycle, washer was purchased in 7/05. I have basic mechanical skills and used a socket wrench to remove clutch pulley, just follow the service manual removal steps to remove the clutch pulley. Pull the plastic cover off the clutch pulley and inspect the spring, clean/lube needle bearings and the clutch hub coupler that drives spinner shaft. I used WD40 I may need to re-lube down the road with a good light grease. It took a few tries for me to get the clutch pulley to stay on after re-install and power up, getting the clutch pulley seated properly is the trick. I did not remove the washer tub for this fix, I believe I saw a posting where someone did. I just leaned the washer back to get a better reach angle, it is a tight work area. I did not want to junk 4 yr old $1k machine with out trying a fix. If you want to work on this model get the service manual, I found a link on this site, good luck!

I have the same problem with the uc code. I am grateful for this sight and the information regarding opening the top and front. Exactly what do I look for when attempting to determine whether or not the drain is blocked.
Thanks for any info.

Hello plthrsn64 ,
You should open up a separate problem for this but I will post as a solution for the Lid Lock Issue.
For the FAV6800AW that is you machine type correct? The "LO" console error is "Lid has failed to unlock". I haven't experienced the "LO" error code to the display but this is the direction I would go in. I feel you have a signaling problem back to the control board in the console from the lid is unlocked contacts in the left/right Lid Locks.. I would disconnect the left and right lid lock plugs to the washer. The right lid lock is not necessary for operation. The left lid lock is the important one because of its dual signaling function, the Lid is closed signaling from the magnetic reed relay and lid magnet and the lid is locked signaling from lid locks slide switch in the lid lock. I think you may corrosion build up in the left lid lock such as the Pic’s I will attach show of other users. The left lid lock is subject to corrosion brought on by the bleach dispenser.
You can start by un-seating the right lid lock and leave off. Then try un-seating and re-seating the left lid lock plug a few times and see if that will get you back in service. Be careful those plugs are difficult to pull out. Please remove power to the washer first then you will need to lift up the washer top to access the lid lock plugs. Here is the process, use the service manual for additional support.
The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. See page 33 of the SM for putty knife insertion point.
If seating/reseating the left Lid Lock a few times doesn’t help I would remove the left lid lock per the Service Manual, carefully open up the left lid lock and see if corrosion is the issue. The plastic latchs around the lid lock enclosure can break off very easily be careful when opening the lid lock. If you have severe corrision I would use some WD-40 to clean up the contacts with a Q-Tip. The cntacts for the Lid is locked slide back and forth with the activation of the solenoid in the lid lock. You may have to rock back and forth the solenoid to clean up the slide switch. Just watch how the relay parts sit in the lock the latch arm will come out and you will have to fit back together to operate correctly. Sounds complicated it is not, it's just difficult to explain. If you have to replace the left lid lock here is a link.
Left Lid Lock Double check Part number if you order.

Rick, I on lunch break at work so this will be quick response. Removing the clutch is where I would have you start. Have you thrown dc errors in the past. I would remove the clutch and clean up and re-lube the One-Way roller clutch bearing. I'm concerned about the spin cycle noise it if you have not had dC unbalance errors in the past. When you remove the clutch let me know if your series FAV6800AW uses the upper bearing ring on the clutch. If so inspect re-lube if not rusted up and re-install with the re-lubed One-Way roller clutch bearing in the Clutch Pulley assembly. If you still have the loud noise on spin up of the wash basket I think you may be approaching an outer tub bearing replacement job. If you could let me know the first two digits of you serial number of your machine. Those digits represent your series of machine. Here is a link to the post on Clutch maintenance/replacement that I put together. You have a Clutch Malfunction with your FAV6800A orFAV9800A which model is it?
If you can cleanu up One-Way Roller clutches you could be back in service today See my Clutch Fix Post......Rich
If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.
If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.
