Question about Belkin F1DG102U 2-port KVM Switch

Open Question

Problematic switching between 2 P/C

I use the F1DG102U switch. When I power on the first PC (win vista) all is well. When I power on the second PC (win xp professional), although I can hear the booting up procedure nothing appears on the screen unless I press one, two or even three times the restart button of the PC, in which case the PC repeatently restarts and finally gets in working order.
From that point on everything works perfectly and switching between the two computers is accomplished either using the romote button or the Flip software.
Any suggestions ? Thank you very much !!

Has anyone figured this out? I have the wireless version, but the same thing happens to me. For no reason that I can see, it will switch between computers. Sometimes just once and then sometimes, back and forth several times, until I have to shut off one of the computer to get it to stop.

SOURCE: Belkin Parallel AutoSwitch F1U115E

Please advise of further info. All the connected PC's are running on XP. One is not connecting to the network. Sounds like the "Local Area Network" setting needs to be set for "Automatically assign an IP". Go to the start menu, select "Run" and type in "CMD". Type "IPCONFIG" and enter. This will display your network setting and IP address. If there is no IP address, then you will enever have a connection. If the IP address is listed, it will display a unique IP address, a subnet of and the ip address of the gateway. Please respond with any further.

SOURCE: kvm switch won't stay on second computer, switches back

You might try disabling any power saving schemes in use on either computer. The KVM (I believe) gets its power through the ports and one computer may be shutting down power.

this must be a troja or a virus and the mesage that pops up bears no relevance as XML is a exel type file along with a HTTP address number.

Click start>run, then type msconfig and in the next window, look at the startup tab and look in the list for anything that relates to XML and untick it.

Click apply and then reboot the pc and then click don't show again when a windows pops up and says that you have changed system settings.

The notification should not now pop up.

To make sure you install back again your Windows Vista and Windows XP is this.
  1. Go to Bios Setup and change the setting of your Hard Disk drive from Sata to IDE mode.
  2. Boot priority the CD/DVD Rom to run your Bootable CD/DVD.
This setting are quietly working, good luck!

New Lenovo Y430 keyboard and touchpad does not work

Finally, I decided and insisted on being given a replacement for another defective Y430 unit. I am just so glad that the problematic 2 units were discovered before the 7-days allowance for return/replacement of defective units. I now have this third unit of Lenovo to replace the first two defective ones. I do hope this works well and will not make me do a fourth trip to the seller for any returns/ replacements/complaints again. :)

Audio with KVM switch

Check that the audio-cables from the "other" computer to the KVM are not near anything "bad", such as AC adapter for the speakers, or close to any speakers.

If you temporarily connect the speakers _directly_ to the "other" computer, does the "noise" go away?
