Internet, Tosh Equium 210 17I & BT2100 problem

a 11 year old PC with XP> I bet.
asks at toshiba first, I bet not. and they are always first.

1: RTM , read the service manual.

looks like TOSH dropped support on this old dog PC.
did you try the all batteries out trick yet>? this is always first trick tried, coin cell out,big battery out, then AC pack unplugged
bingo now for no power, push power button for 30 seconds.
this discharges, everything inside, not put coin back, and AC pack only, run on AC, bios reset?
the RTC coin cell will be no good, after 11 years time.
replace it first.

You need to contact the college's IT support to get the college's wireless router configuration settings so you can configure your laptop's wireless with these settings.

When you set up your internet connection, you apparently entered information about a proxy server. Go back through that procedure and delete the reference to proxy server. Hope that helps!

sounds like driver has been lost

You need to get the IP address, domain and other info from you internet service provider to set up the connection again.

check your IP address
In Windows XP
Start>Run>cmd, click Okay
In the Black window Type
ipconfig>enter This should give you a IPADRESS ex: 192.168.1.1
in the black window type
ping www.google.com
Check the ping statistc package sent package received package lose
If you get 4S,4R,0L you have a internet connection
If you have a internet connection and can not display the web page. you might have a browser issue
Tyry resetting IE to default setting

WJ Enabled is UltraSurf.... just don't use UltraSurf for firefox. Go to Tools>>Add-ons>>UltraSurft Firefox Tool and select Disable or Uninstall...

Then use a web-based proxy.

in relation to this, please check your network adapters if they have a symbol right on tope of their icons. lemme know what it look like...

Make sure you have the latest drivers, router and NB.

Does it connect on reboot with the SSID off?

Does it work on repair?

if so, check your energy settings, some times they power down the wireless to save energy. There are also settings on how it behaves.
