a 11 year old PC with XP> I bet.
asks at toshiba first, I bet not. and they are always first.
here are the steps.
and old vista laptop, (its not supported too well)
1: RTM , read the service manual.
2: on newer PCs , you must call them. (by law) 2012 to now)
looks like TOSH dropped support on this old dog PC.
did you try the all batteries out trick yet>? this is always first trick tried, coin cell out,big battery out, then AC pack unplugged
bingo now for no power, push power button for 30 seconds.
this discharges, everything inside, not put coin back, and AC pack only, run on AC, bios reset?
the RTC coin cell will be no good, after 11 years time.
replace it first.
here is place that stores old manuals, free, no tricks
http://www.manualsdir.com/search.html?q=A200-1V0
there is no real toshiba forum there at TOSH, (lame, that.)
only KB, jive. (near useless generic answers)
https://support.toshiba.com/support/navShell?cf=tais_kb
the KB even mixes Cell phone with laptops, useless answers. in KB
call them? using phone?
tom19511, many thanks for your solution.
It made me think along a different line and it worked!
