I have a Fujitsu C2310 that has not been used for years. When I started I neglected to recharge the battery before trying to used the laptop. The screen lights up at first, then goes dark. I can see very faint images on the screen.
If I power down and then power up again, the screen lights up for a fraction of a second and then goes dark again.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen
You can use rechargable cells with high current( mA) rating. So try and use any rechargeble cells with above 2000mA . Also you can use a rechargeable adapter externally to charge these cells.
Try to unplug the power from the back of the notebook and take out the battery and any other accessories. While no battery and power, press the power button for 10 seconds to drain everything inside. Plug the power back, turn it on w/o the battery. If you have a POST screen then try to go Fujitsu website to see if there's a new firmware for the notebook. If no screen then you need to take it to a tech/repair shop.
The first thing to do will be to try and recharge the battery because definitely that will be dead. After the battery has charged for a bit try powering the unit on and see if it functions fine (At this point it should if the unit was in good condition when it was dropped four years ago unless it was poorly stored). Hope this solution has been helpful?
Does the phone turn on (does it play the sounds)? If not, and it's completely dead, try a different battery and charge, if that fails it seems like you have a broken logic board. Somebody needs to
open your
blackberry to replace it. Go to your provider, they might replace the phone
for you. If they refuse and If you want somebody else to do
it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry Bold Repair Guide that shows how.
Battery is probably dead. Will need to purchase new one, not repairable. When replacing, do not buy "new" battery that has been sitting around on a shelf for several years. Will have much shorter life. Insist on battery that has been made within the last year, maybe 18 months at most. Expect to pay $50 to $125. To increase battery life, try not the let them fully discharge when using. Most recommendations are keeping them above 10% charge.
This could be 1 of 2 problems, or both. The power adapter may need replacing and/or the battery will need to be replaced. If you use the battery a lot you may have reached the 300 recharge cycle limit. New components can be spendy if they are not still under warrenty. Call your Tech support to see what they have to say. If the warrenty is expired you might consider purchasing the replacement on ebay. Otherwise, do some comparison shopping.
Sounds like you back light or LCD inverter is going out, If you don't hear a whine then it is just the LCD screen, if you hear that whine then it is the inverter. An inverter will run 40-60 dolloars as opposed to and LCD screen which usually start around 100 and go up...
Hope this helps, if so please rate my solution accordingly.
Since it seems as though you dont move it very much you might be able to hook an external monitor up to it and using the Fn+F5 button swap it to use the external monitor untill you can get it repaired.
Same problem here, i upload the pics on my computer, then i turn off my cam, few minutes later try to turn it on, but no success, still have the blackscreen. I try to change the battery, reset it (15s without the battery, another 2 hours but no success), format the memory card (even without the memory the cam doesn't turn on).
