Hi jaijeetc,
There is no need to worry about a hardware problem. The orange light is just telling you that you didn't have an internet connection.
So no, there is no need to worry about a hardware problem.

192.168.2.1 in your internet browser, and mess around with the settings. like the firewall on the ps3. You can find the ps3 IP under system information. The router more then likely named your ps3 by its ip. then look up a video on how to port forward your ps3 with your router.
Modem light blinking-----> No internet connection available.......
that is, the router is not yet configured for your internet service provider....
connected light OFF------>No internet connection
wired light blinking------> data transmission happening.....
after a while the use that is put to the router will decline
and will get worse as multiple devices are making it work hard
the best thing to do is leave it unplugged for a day and then unplug it when not in use , this will at least extend the life of the router
it will end up needing repair to the comunications circut eventually or just buying a new one may just be cheaper then trying to get it fixed
Me Two, I just reboot my cable box and router box, i do wireless online gaming and every bout 10 mins, i get disconnected even though i have full signal, on he routers web interface settings I have everything up-and-running and thr top right hand corners says connected, but when it drops I just realised that the internet light stops blinking aswell..???
What is this, this routers is way too annoying keep getting disconnected from every god damn game.
Keep me up-to-date if you what the preoblem is.
And oh, the person who can't get on the internet even though his ''WAN'' Says Stable i have 2 possible reasons.
In the address bat type in the following..
192.168.2.1.
look on the left of the screen you can see DNS, if not already ticked, tick the the little box which states.
'' Automatically assign DNS by IP'' then Apply Changes.
Or, Go Straigt down to the bottom and go to system settings, also go down to the very bottom. At this poin you can see A option or '' Advanced Featue! '' Menu saying, UnPn or something lol, click the box which says enable or something.
Check all other wireless devices within the range of the router, cordless phones, cellular phones, etc. Change the wireless channel on the router or possibly the other wireless devices.
2nd: check the Keep Alive setting in the router configuration if you have DSL. Set this accordingly
