One sensor light is on, one is off. Door will open with remote but not close. Door can be closed only by holding down the big button on the main control until door shuts.
The light on both sensors must be on for it to close. Tweak them a bit to see if they are properly pointed at one another. If you cannot get the light to come on you most likely have bad sensors.

You need to hook those wires back up and then check the door sensors very closely. If the light in one of the door sensors is dim or flashing it will cause your problem.
The only thing that will cause the main light to flash 10 times and the door to reverse to the open position is a sensor problem. Make sure the light on each sensor is on and not flickering ever so slightly. Make sure they are not moving when the door starts to close. Lights on sensors should not blink. One light should stay on constantly and the other sensors light should go off when you block the sensors.
If the main lights flash 10 times when you try to close the door it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.
If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses when closing it is a door sensor problem. You can override this with the door control but not with a remote. Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is on and not flickering.
Door sensors are not working. Check if lights are on both sides.
Might be misaligned or one is bad.
Door will close if you hold in the garge close button until it's all the way down.
And it will open on it's own.
You can get these off ebay.
If when you try to close the door with the remote the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position you have a door sensor problem. Usually it is because one of them has been bumped and is no longer pointed at the other one. If they are pointed properly they will each have a small light that is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit. If this doesn't work and the lights are not on you most likely have bad sensors.
The code you are seeing with 5 blinks is "RPM sensor or motor overload." We can eliminate the motor overload because the door is trying to close. The RPM sensor is a small printed circuit board just in front of the motor. It's a snap to replace and is available at any good door opener company. They will know exactly what you are talking about if you ask for an RPM sensor board.
sounds like the safety door sensors are at fault, also did you reprogram the remotes by pressing the smart button on the logic board, when the safety sensors are bad the door will reverse to open state.you can pully the rip cord to manualy close the door untill you solve the problem.
