Question about Logitech X-540 Computer Speakers

I have an mp3 player that i want to hook up to my logitech x-540 speakers but when i do it only plays on the front, or rear speakers depending on which cord i plug it into, is there a way where i can use all of the speakers

An MP3 player is a stereo device, meaning that it works on two channels - left and right. Therefore a 5.1 speaker system will only play on 2 speakers.

However, if you want to use rear speakers as well, just for the fun of it (you won't get any surround effects, both left speakers will play the left channel, and both right speakers the right channel) you can purchase a "headphone Y-adaptor", that normally allows two people to use two pairs of headphones on the same portable music device.
It has one headphone plug and two headphone sockets in parallel. Plug it into the player, and to the sockets plug the front and rear speaker cables :)

Yes there has to be a configuration for the 5.4 surround sound... look if the hardware came with a CD to update the sound driver. or Check if the its correctly configured. on the control panel then click Sound, then depending what windows you have have to lookk for the configuration or properties area and configure as 5.0 or sorround etc.

Hi there bud , IF you just going to connect it str8 into your MP3 player ,Then it wont play out all speakers because you need a 5.1 channel sound card for it...im not too sure if you can connect your speakers straight into yuour MP3 player , i personaly have never done it...

using the green connector and connect your mp3 and push the matrix button. this should work

why dont you have them all hooked up? I have the same speakers but I the model that only has 2 speakers. Try pluging your audio cable in the front where you would plug head phones in. Assuming that this is a desktop.

unplugg your hdmi cable and use a regular monitor cable then plug your speakers in to your sound card

How do we connect our MP3 player to the surround sound Logitech X-540. It does not seem obvious. We can connect to get some speakers working but not all..

The only way for you to be able to play music on your mp3 player with those speakers is if you Connect the mp3 player to your PC and play the music threw there.remember you cannot use your speakers for portability it has to be connect to a power outlet constantly in order to work

X-540 speakers no sound rear speakers

rear speakers are not designed to put out the same output as fronts. They are for supplemental sound only, to make it seem like there's something happening behind you.

Connect DVD Player to logitech X 540 Surround System

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output

Proper set up

Try to google the brand name and get the user's manual. Usually the extra cords plug into one of the other speakers and then one to the computer. Sound card could be an issue but I doubt it.
