Pls open cover = Please open cover. Probaly has a jam - Open the cover remove the drum/toner unit and check for jammed piece of paper under of in the drum unit.

Look at the front door that you open when you change the toner/drum. You will see that it has not closed properly at one end. Give it a gentle whack and the error should go. Very common problem as the catches can be stiff.
Open the top and back covers. If you see any jammed paper or other item, gently pull it out, then close the covers. If the error message remains, open and close the covers again. If the FAX/MFC cannot reset itself and return to the date and time prompt, it will display MACHINE ERROR XX. Make sure the covers are completely closed. Open each section an close it making sure it closes with a click. Also check for covers under other covers.
It appears that you have a broken back door have a look on the door to see if there is a broken piece of plastic as when you shut the rear door a tab pushes against a push switch letting the machine know that the door is closed. if you cannot see a broken piece then the switch it faulty try this by push a flat screw driver on the switch and check if the message disappears.
