How to clear a purge unit error
Reset will not clear a purge unit error. Sometimes you can remove the purge assembly and clean out all the ink covering the moving parts. You clean with just water, most times I just replace the purge unit, around $30.00

When the printer is not functioning properly it may need to be reset. Make sure that this code is not being generated from a paper jam. Consult your manual for all the ways to check for paper jammed in the printer. (You may not be able to see the paper jam).
Then try a reset as follows:
1) On the printer panel, press and hold the <On/Off> button for one second (the display will go blank). If it does not, unplug the power cord.
2) Wait approx. ten seconds. If unplugged, plug it back in. Otherwise, press the <On/Off> button again.
3) Wait for the machine to cycle through its startup routine before trying a print job.
