When we use the flashdrive in the usb port, the screen says no file, but there are several songs on the flashdrive.

Your player is not regognizing the data on your flash drive it is the wrong format check online what format the akai uses

if its a film thats on the flashdrive its possible its not in the right format, try converting it to compatible format

Try the back USB port of your desktop, or try other USB ports of your computer.
Try also restarting your computer while the Flashdrive is attached.

Plug your usb cable into your computer available usb port.Check for the hardware specification, like usb 1.0, usb 1.1. or usb 2.0. Try also installing your device and kies applicatin to other computer to identify or to troubleshoot where exactly the problem. Good day

I installed from original CD and my computer running Vista does not find maxtor ll external HD. Is it compatable with Vista? why does it not find the drive?

Start "Device Manager".
Make sure that the USB devices are "ready" and "enabled".
Then, connect the external USB device.

Can you try the Maxtor external device in some *OTHER* notebook?
If it does not work, then the Maxtor device has a problem.

I need drivers for windows 7 because is Not been reconised

Unless there is something really weird about this drive it should work. I'm running W7 and have tried numerous hard drives and memory sticks and all have been recognised. W7 can be very slow sometimes in recognising disk drives. Try plugging it into a different USB port.

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

A couple of ideas:

initially, confirm that it is the PC's USB ports that is the issue by trying the WD on another PC;
try plugging in a flashdrive, camera to your PC's USB port;
if it has been verified that the WD works in other PCs and that the USB port of your computer works, then it could be a registry entry.

Please open "regedit":

go to HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\USBstor;
check the value of the DWORD "Start" it should be 3;
If the DWORD "Start" does not exist, pls create it. Right click, New, DWORD value, Start, Value Data = 3.

Incidentally, there is Microsoft KB about disabled/disabling USB here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

My XP Media Center PC does not recognise the scanner

Your USB ports on your computer may be bad. Do other devices work if you plus them into the same USB port? You can try plugging the scanner into another PC with USB ports. If it works in the other PC, then that points to the original PC's USB ports. You can try buying an add-on USB port or using other USB ports on the PC. If it still does not work, then there may be a problem with the USB port on the scanner, and the scanner itself may need to be serviced.

Canon should appear as disk drive when plugged into PC.
Is it the cable that came with the camera?
The camera needs to be switched on before you plug it in.
Do you see a message in the tray (lower right of screen near clock)? What does it say?
If no message, then open up the "My Computer" window before you plug in the camera. Note carefully the contents. Then plug in the camera. Does anything change? Then double-click the new or changed icon and you should find your pictures.
