I want to connect my telstra wireless modem to my PS3

If your computer is already connected connected then connecting the PS3 will not stop the computer from connecting to the router.

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

Play Station

Now go to the settings page of the PLAY STATION

NETWORK SETTINGS ==>
INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS ==>
WIRELESS SETTINGS ==>
If you get confirmation screen displayed stating that you will be disconnected from the Internet. click YES ==>
select EASY ==>
select WIRELESS ==>
SCAN ==>
you will see your SSID ( wireless network name)==>
select the security settings ( router wireless settings)==>
enter the KEY ==>
select the IP address settings EASY ==>
save your settings ==>
Test the connection .

You will need to reset your modem. Are you using wifi or ethernet?

Simple unplug your modem for a few minutes and then try again.

If this doesn't work, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider.

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

Basically the PS3 wireless settings needs to be configures with the Netgear wireless router settings.
To test if the modem is connects to the Internet, connect a computer into the modem, if it works then the modem is configured correctly. If it doesn't work, then contact your ISP and get them to test your modem connection.

Please give some information on your router and modem brand/model, also what type of connection do you have, cable, dsl, etc. Go to speedtest.net and post your upload and download speeds as well.

Are you connecting to your play station wirelessly or through network cable directly to the back of the PS3?

Depending on your speeds your connection could be overloaded by the high demand the PS puts on your internet connection, or if you are wireless you could be in far range from where the router is located. Hope this helps. The extra information might help.
