Brew button turning off

After turning the machine on I, of course, wait for the brew button to light up. When it does I start the brewing process. After a few seconds the light goes off. Should I wait for the light to go back on before I continue brewing? And why does it do that?

The thermostat is cycling. This is normal as the unit has a small boiler. It is trying to maintain the temperature. It is a good idea to run some water (brew) through the portafilter before you put you coffee in to make you espresso. This will heat the portafilter, so you espresso is hot, and you get the good creama.

Excessive water comes out the drain when brewing a expresso

Hi
Your 3 way valve is dirty or bad. Have you ever done a back flush with a detergent?
About every 3 months it is a good idea to do a backflush your machine with a blind filter basket. When backflusing you should only use a good espresso machine cleaner designed for an espresso machine's brew system. DO NOT USE a decalcification cleaner. First, clean the screen and dispersion plate plus the brew head and reassemble, which will prepare you for backflusing. Then, insert the blind filter basket into the portafilter with a ½ teaspoon of cleaner in the basket. Next, place the portafilter into the brew head and tighten. When the machine is hot turn on the brew button for about 10 seconds and then turn off. Then, wait 30 seconds to a minute. Next, turn the brew button on again this time for only about 3 to 5 seconds and then turn off. Wait 30 seconds to a minute. Repeat these last two steps six to eight times. After you have completed the backflushing remove your portafilter and rinse the blind basket with fresh water. Next, you turn on the brew switch to rinse the plumbing. Then, reinsert the portafilter into brew head and turn on the brew button for about 10 seconds and then turn off. Next, turn on the brew button for approximately 3 to 5 seconds and then turn off. Repeat about 4 to 5 times. Always remember backflushing is hard on electric 3 way solenoid valves, so it is not recommended do this no more than four times a year for a machine used in home application. You will find more good is done to your machine be properly cleaning the brew head.

Tassimo Coffee Maker: Tell me how to operate it. I can fill the water, put the pod in and all the lights keep flashing. Pressing the start/stop button does nothing.

• All lights will blink the first time you turn on your
machine. This is your cue to prepare your machine for use by
following the quick instructions in Step 1 on separate insert.
• If the water level runs low while you are preparing a
beverage, all lights will flash. Simply remove and refill the
water container, and brewing will continue automatically
where it left off. It should not be necessary to discard the T-DISC
and start over.
• The AUTO light will blink throughout the brewing process.
Some drinks require a pause in brewing as part of the recipe
for brewing your perfect cup - this is to allow the optimal flavors
to unfold and is a normal part of the brewing process. The AUTO
light will continue to blink throughout this process.

HOW TO MAKE A DRINK
• Place the mug of your choice on the cup stand.
• When the STANDBY light illuminates, insert the T-DISC® of your choice
and close the clamp.
• The HEATING light will blink as the brewer heats the water to the
optimal temperature for your drink.
• Once the proper temperature is reached, the AUTO light will
illuminate. When it lights up, press the start/stop button to begin
the brew cycle.
• The AUTO light will continue to flash throughout the brewing cycle.
PLEASE NOTE: Some beverages have a pause in brewing
after the initial influx of water into the T-DISC®.
• The MANUAL light will illuminate when your drink is ready.

Tassimo red light stays on ran descaling disc twice

After many months, I solved the problem of the red light staying on the Tassimo Coffee Maker. Use these easy steps.
1. Fill a 2 cup measuring cup with hot water.
2. Mix in descaler.
3. Pour in the empty water tank.
4. Put the yellow cleaning disk in the chamber and close chamber. Put the two cup measuring cup under the spout.
5. Push and hold the brew button for about 3 seconds (until the red and green light flash.
6. Now don't touch the machine. It will do it's thing for about 20 minutes. (Don't be impatient and start to push buttons, just leave it)
7. When it finishes it's cycle. The red light will turn off. Then clean the water tank and put fresh water and run clean water through the brewing cycle 4 times. Your machine is now ready for use.

Hi, My machine starts the process allright. It grinds and starts brewing. A few drops comes through, then it just stops and a red light shines up. I have tried to remove some parts and cleaning them. It...

Sounds like the grind is too fine. If its (the big knob) below 8 in the bean hopper, turn it to 16. You can turn the knob to a larger # anytime but you have to be grinding to turn to a smaller #. Make 3 coffee but push the button when it starts to brew to stop the brewing until you get to the third coffee and just let this one brew. If it brew correctly then turn the knob down to a # a couple higher than you had before.

How do I pre brew

I got one of these for xmas, and I was able to program the pre-brew option.

First, turn off the machine.
On the front of the machine, there is series of 5 buttons. (From left to right, they are: Small Coffee, Large Coffee, Pre-ground Coffee, Hot water and Descaling.)

While holding down the 1st (Small coffee) and 4th (Hot water) buttons, turn on the power.
Wait 3-5 seconds before releasing these two buttons. You machine is now ready for programming.

Below the 5 buttons are 4 small lights. If the second light from the left is red, the machine is already programmed to pre-brew. If the light is not red, do the following:

Press the Coffee button (2nd button from the left) once and the second light from the left should glow red. This turns on pre-brewing. (Pressing the Coffee button again will turn off both the light and the pre-brew option.)

Now turn off the power for at least 5 seconds. The next time you turn the machine on, it should pre-brew the coffee.

The process worked great for me the first time, but when I wanted to program the machine to not pre-brew, I had to go through this process a couple of times. Not sure why, though. :-)

Cuisinart grind and brew

This happens when the machine needs cleaned. Fill coffee maker with white vineger instead of water. Turn grind off, make sure empty pot is in place. Brew a pot of hot vineger. Repeat. Brew a pot of hot water. Repeat. This process removes mineral buildups inside machine. If you have access to filtered water, start using that to brew your coffee. I do and probably do this process 1 per 6 weeks.
