Where can downloads of computer voices for the xl330s be found?

Go to your control panel and select "Speech". Under Voice Selection, you can select the voice you want to use. By default, there is only one voice available in Windows XP called Microsoft Sam. Additional voices can be downloaded from various Web sites.

• Download and install "Webupdater", on your computer, from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
• Connect your satnav to the computer with the mini USB lead
• Run the Webupdater program

The program will search for updates to your operating system. If it finds some they will be installed. After the update, or if there's no update after it finishes searching for one, you'll get the option for additional optional downloads. This includes voices in different languages and from different countries. Click on the Polish voices you want to download so they're selected and then on download.

They will be downloaded to your satnav. After you have disconnected the satnav from the computer you then need to select the Polish voice by pressing TOOLS - SETTINGS - LANGUAGE - VOICE and selecting the Polish voice that you downloaded.

Connect it to your computer, get your free updates and add the available voices. You have to enable the voices on the Tom Tom after you load them in. I have a Tom Tom One. It's accurate to within 12 feet.

I eventually found out that pressing the reset pin and re-starting allowed me to access the computer voices.

go to the:

1-change preferences
2-change voice

than you need to select female voice but it might be female computer voice! Because only female computer voice can speak street names.

In order to change your car icon apart from the icons that are already on it you must first download additional icons which are available from the Garmin.com Website and then transfer those from your computer to your Nuvi - see Page 21 of the Owner's Manual available by download from Garmin.com To change the voice touch Settings on the right side of your Main Scree which then provides 6 Sub Menus, one of which is Locale choose Locale and then the bar identified by the Set of Lips will allow you to change the language of the voice and from Male to Female (page 46 of the Owner's Manual)
