Gameboy Color Pokemon Games Not Saving?

Hello, I am really strated to get upset because I have had many of the pokemon games including Red Version, Yellow Version, Gold Version, and Crystal Version and ive noticed that after a while they just stop saving my profiles. I have tried repeatedly saving before I shut off my console, some of them wont even save the first time I try, others will save for a short period of time then just delete themselves. If anyone has any ideas please let me know asap. Thanx

Thank you for your suggestion but your only allowed to have one saved game on these games, and i have no idea how to delete it unless you start a new one and save over the previous game...

Gameboy Color Pokemon Gold and Silver versions will not save the game. I went to play them and my old files were deleted so I started over and whenever the gameboy is shut down regardless of how many times I saved the game is never there when you turn the gameboy back on.

My Pokemon game is not getting saved as it is showing that the game is saved

  • Anonymous Jun 16, 2008

I Have the same exact problem. I turn on my gameboy to play pokemon silver and there is no saved game. All it says is new game or options. I start a new game and play for a while. Then ill save my game before turning it off. When i turn it back on to play again and pick up where i left off, there is no game that is saved on it. Once again the only option i have is to start a new game. It wont save my game even though it tells me that it is. Is this because my gameboy is to old? Im pretty upset about this.

SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM! My daughter has the same problem but with
Game Boy Color. After reading info from the net I have found out that
there is a battery inside the game cartridges that needs replaced. You
will need to be able to open up the game cartridge and replace the
battery. The GBA SPs are the same problem. Follow link and read how to
replace battery. If you can't do it have your parents do it for you.

It's actually very simple. Because Gold, Silver and Crystal have an internal clock the battery would run dry faster than other GameBoy color games. Your Red, Blue and Yellow would have run dry just because they've have a save file on it for such a long time. You're best bet is to either buy a new copy that works or go to an electronics shop to get them to replace the battery. Doing it yourself isn't the best idea because the battery is already soldered on to the tabs connecting it to the game chip. There is also another possibility whish is highly unlikey but the connectors to your game boy could be dirty. If this is the case then take a cue tip dampen it (it can't be drenched with water because that will ruin the game) and do up and down strokes on the connectors of the game. (don't do side to side strokes becasue that can ruin the game too).

These games depend on a battery to save. If the battery goes bad, the save function is gone.

I do not know if the batteries are replaceable- I've never heard of doing it.

I think the person above means the internal battery in the actual game, not in the gameboy itself.

It seems that there is no real fix for this.
Do a quick google search for some more info.

I also had this problem before on my pokemon fire red version...though everytime i save it appears that the game was saved but the next time i turn on the console to play....i must start a new game.

i guess this has something to do with the game itself and not with the console...Gameboy cartridges (GB original, color, advance, and SP) can be pirated or copied. in this case the unscrupulous people who do these things are those who makes profit with less budget. copying an original cartridge to be sold on the market but most of the time removing the "save" and "options" category of the game....meaning less program on the cartridge....less cost to manufacture....more income for them.

the only suggestion and solution i can advice is...always make sure that the item you are buying is an original merchandise. so that if ever it has some can immediately have it replaced or fixed by the manufacturer or distributor

How to download the pokemon olnine for pc

First off, it sounds like you are aiming to load a version of Pokemon onto some sort of emulator on your PC. You can get one of the best gameboy emulators at this website. After you install this onto your computer, you will need a ROM to run on the emulator. There is a large collection of Pokemon ROMs located here. After you download the ROM you want to play, load it up through the emulator and enjoy!

Alternately, you can play all of the games online at this website if you have java installed on your computer.

My gameboy advance game pokemon silver version always says save file corrupted

there is a small battery inside the carriage, replacing this will give the game the ability to keep saved data once again. *Note* I do not suggest doing this unless your experienced doing such thing. you can damage the board of the game if on careful.

How can i find ho-oh in pokemon fire red

The only way to obtain it in fire red is with a mystic ticket which was an event item, which you had to attend the pokemon rocks tour. Otherwise if you have or know someone with a gold or silver version for original gameboy you can trade from that. Preferably gold beccause you get him sooner in the game.

My Game Boy Color game: Pokemon Gold has recently stopped working. By this I mean it does not save anymore and always resets itself whenever the game is turned off, despite "saving." I'm not...

There is no easy fix. Well, there is, but you have to open the game cartridge
all gameboy game cartridges have a battery inside. this battery powers the save module. Pokemon gold is such an old game that the battery has likely died; open the game, replace the battery, and it should work. images?q=tbn:ln15bafqcr5fzm: Leave me good feedback please.

How do transfer packs work? Will it work on a nintendo DS?

A Game Pack is the game cartridge you insert to play a game. GameBoy Advance Games are not compatable with the Transfer Pak. The Transfer pack and Pokemon Stadium 2 only support the following: Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal versions. No Ruby will not work with the transfer pak as you will not be able to insert it, and the software would not pick it up.
