Acer Aspire screen in Extensa

Aspire 1000/1640Z/1690/2012 - Launch Keys above the keyboard
Aspire 16xx (General) the satellite-like launch button above the keyboard
Aspire 2000 Series (less Aspire 2012, See Above) - Button on the Front of the Laptop
Aspire 3005 on the lower right-hand side of your laptop
Aspire 3500 -
Aspire 5612 sliding button on the side of the laptop
Aspire 9302 the blue button on the left-hand side of the laptop
Aspire 94xx (General) the key found below the Lock key
Aspire One, in the lower right corner of the palm rest is a small strip with a picture of an antenna on it. An LED to the right of the strip lights to indicate the wireless is turned on.
Aspire One Series ZG5 -
Extensa 2000/2500 Series - Far Right launch button above the keyboard
Ferrari 3000/3020/3400/4000 - Button on Front of Laptop
Travelmate C Series - Far Left hot key and then choose WLAN from menu that appears

Try using keyboard combination Fn+right arrow. If this doesn't help right click on battery icon on taskbar, select Adjust screen brightness, then move slider for Screen Brightness to the right.

the only way i have ever seen this done about 20 times in 15 yrs is to take the battery out of the mother board

Most likely, the problem is NOT with the motherboard, but with the screen itself. It could be either the flourescent bulb or the inverter board. Cost to repair should run about $175 or maybe less, depending on which of the two it is.

If you can't get it repaired locally, contact me for information about shipping it to me for repair.

are you saying it only does that with dvds

not quite sure what you mean ,motherboard controller;regarding usb they have their own controllers just a case of update drivers.windows update should do the trick unless you cant use net.in which case access from another pc and down load latest drivers for your model and instal

I was unable to turn my acer aspire 3690 on no matter what I tried the lights came on and the fan ran but no monitor no sounds.... searched the internet and reboted ect... Did you know acer aspires (mine at least ) has a screen lock? try pressing F12 and fn duh! I thought the mother board was shot.... my 4 year old had locked me out of it! Much easier than replacing the mother board huh?
