Sylvania 6632 LG blows fuse when plugged in

My Sylvania 6632 LG which is 13 months old (out of warranty) would not turn on. Upon investigating I found the line fuse (4amp) was blown. I replaced it but it blows immediately upon plugging in the TV to power.

Do I need a new power supply? If so, where do I buy and what's the price??

Had the same problem and found that a 1N5406 rectifier diode had shorted. It was part of the bridge rectifier for the power supply. I replaced the 91cent diode and all was good.

I too had this problem. I read some posts on this site about how to repair it, and low behold, they worked! I took the back off of the TV, and the first thing I found was the fuse was blown. With my meter, I checked the first 1N5406 rectifier diode after the fuse, and found that it had shorted out. Then I had to learn to desolder the diode, which I learned about on Youtube. I bought a pair replacement diodes at Radioshack for $1.49 and four replacement 125 volt 4 amp fuses. The whole repair cost about $5.00 and a few hours about learning about electronics. The TV works great! Good times!

Sorry, these are cheap TVs built by Funai for Sylvania. It will need at least a power supply. None of my parts sources list it. You will have to go to an authorized servicer -

My vacuum keeps blowing the fuse. It's about 8 months old and is running good. I looked over it, all wires and plugs are good.

A fuse blows when the current in it exceeds rated capacity. Obviously, it is happening all the time as different fuses keep going south. That means that the motor of your "running good" vacuum is using excessive current.
It is only 8 months old and still under warranty.

Only other thing you can check is the rating of the fuse and the rating of the vacuum. If it is near or same as fuse then that will cause a problem.

Why is fuse no 7 blowing?

It would be wiring shock. please check starter motor solenoid wire. may be somewhere having IG on wire shock to ground.

Sylvania microwave convection oven overheats after

you need to remove the cover and after it operates and shuts down(CAREFULLY) feel the magnetron tube sides (BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL<HI_VOLTAGE ON TUBE FROM CAPACITOR) still, then if its not too warm there is a small temp sensor held by 2 screws on the side of the tube and they can go bad and shut off current to the tube, the tube will run warm, but should never run HOT,if its hot its defective

No power!

There's an internal fuse - about 20 Amps. It usually blows when the magnetron dies. Unplug the unit from the wall and access the internals. You should plainly see the fuse holder - remove and check the fuse. Spares are available at any ACE hardware store. If the unit is more than 5 years old, I wouldn't mess with it.

92 honda civic vx keeps blowing taillight fuses.

I found out some of the wiring had grounded out and burnt. I took up the carpet in the door jam and found where the wires had touched and shorted out. i traced each individual wire that had burnt and replaced it with new wire. So far so good.

We have had our RU-60SZ30 for almost 3 years. After 13 months it did the same thing, LG covered the cost of the part,($3000.00) according to their certified repair center, but they charged us $500.00 for labor. Now today, 15 months later it is doing it again. I just got off the phone with LG and they say "too bad, you're out of warranty" So my TV that I paid $4000.00 for, has gone out twice in less than 36 months and LG says, "Oh well" After searching the web I found a law firm in New York that looks like they are putting together a class action suit regarding our model. Go to WWW.ZLK.COM/ZENITHTV.HTML and fill in the questionaire.
