When the 7410 is plegged in, the On button does not light up. In fact, none of the buttons will light up. The 7410 starts its boot up mode, but never comes out of it. Depressing the On button has no effect whatsoever. The computer says the 7410 is not connected. What do you expect is the problem?

This was solved really well on this blog. It is some problem with the wifi board. If you disconnect it (no so hard and well explained on the blog) you will have network printing over a cable but no wireless.
connect the printer directly to the wall socket for the power supply if it is connected thrugh surge protector.
perform a reset :
unplug the power cable .
press and hold # and 6 key on the printer..
plug in the cable wait for 20 secs then release the buttons..
after this the printer will re-initialize .. this may take few mins..
on the printer front panel u will see a setup button .
it is denoted by a range . press that u will get all the options there.
but first disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer press the on button on the printer for 10 times connect the power chord back to the printer.
then try printing once
remove the power cable directly from the back of the printer, press and hold # and 9 while holding both these buttons put the power cable back to the printer. now let the buttons go when the on light starts flashing
