When i brew espresso all the water goes directly into drain pan. it is not the espresso as i use pods and it has always worked in the past. i have descaled and made sure no parts are clogged.

Make sure the water tank is filled and properly seated in the machine.
Check the water flow from the steam pipe. If the water flow is strong and consistent, it is possible that the coffee brewing mechanism is clogged or malfunctioning.
Check the coffee pod for any damage or debris that may be preventing it from brewing properly.
Make sure the machine is properly calibrated and that the coffee brewing settings are correct.

Once it is "ready" you need to open the pod receptacle, put in a new pod, and close it. Then the brew light should blink and you can select the size of brew and proceed to make coffee.
They are sensitive to the order of the following steps: heat the water, put in the pod, click brew. The water gets sucked in after the brew to prepare for the next: the water goes into the heating chamber.
The problem may lie with the small tube which pokes a hole in the coffee pod. The tube may be blocked by bits of coffee grounds or loosened scale.
You will need to remove the holder into which a pod is to be inserted.
You then should be able to snap the holder apart.
Then, you should find the small tube which pokes a hole in the pod for brewing.
Use an unbent paper clip to try to gently dislodge anything that may be blocking the tube. Do this over the kitchen sink while water runs over the tube.
There are also tubes which inject water into the pod. Find them and use the paper clip to dislodge any clogs.
Reassemble the coffee maker.
Without inserting a pod, run water through the machine in the brewing cycle - 3 separate times. Place a glass or metal measuring cup to collect the water. Notice if any debris comes out with the "brewed" water.
Then, insert a pod into the machine and run the brew cycle to determine if the coffee is properly brewed.

Lubricate the brew unit with a food safe grease this should help. The brew unit becomes stiff and fail to load up fully this stops the water being dispensed
Check that pod has a punctured hole on BOTH ends.. If the bottom or to wear not punctured this will happen with most Keurigs.
Replace the pod holder if defective.
