I have a netbook running Windows CE 6.0 and I cannot get it to connect to my Netgear wireless router WPN824v2....

  • Ted Bryson Dec 22, 2009

I'm sorry to have wasted your time, This is the exact same cut & paste you sent a couple days ago...

I do NOT have a problem in setting up or securing my network,it's working fine.
The issue that I laid out, in painstaking detail, is the inability to connect a Netbook with Windows CE to the Netgear router. There is no access to a screen in WinCE that allows you to set anything but SSID and security. Those are the only three options.
I tried connecting the Netbook to a USB external optical drive to try to use the Netgear setup disk, no joy. So I copied the setup onto a USB mem.stick but WinCE refuses to install the files.
I have searched the web and the Netgear website, but there's no information! I was able to connect AdHoc, but that doesn't suit my purpose..... Help!
    Thank you

The Netgear wireless router needs the wireless settings configured and then the wireless card in the netbook needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings so it can communicate with the wireless router.

Netgear WGR814v2 does not see my ASUS 1005HA-P netbook, but the netbook sees the the Netgear wireless network but cannot connect .

To connect into your own Netgear router, you need to configure the wireless card with your router's wireless configuration settings, eg.the SSID and encryption settings. Check your router manual on how to configure the router or go to the Netgear WEB site to download this info.
To configure the Netgear router for wireless you need to connect a LAN cable from the laptop to the router and run your browser with the configuration IP address. for Netgear type the URL address ;-
http://192.168.0.1
the login = admin PW = password
Then configure the SSID and encryption, record this info so you can configure the wireless card with the same settings.

You can also connect to the Internet by using a LAN cable and plug it into the Netgear router without a wireless connection.

How can i connect my ipod touch to the netgear maxrange router wpn824v2

Hi,

Follow the steps below to configure settings:

1. Open a browser on a computer connected to the router.
2. Access the router using http://www.routerlogin.com or http://192.168.1.1
3. Username is admin and password is password
4. Click on Wireless settings in the left hand side menu.
5. Under security option select WEP and in key1 type 9876543210 click Apply.

Scan for the wireless network on the Itouch and connect to the network using the password as set above.

Rate it, if it helps.

My sister has a Motorola SP4200 router with a Netgear WPN824v2 wireless router/accesspoint/switch connected to it. Previously she had the SP4200 connected to port 1 (not WAN) port on the Netgear as it is...

it might be asking for a WEP password in order for you to use it which is on the botom of the router or the game sistem is the one causing the trouble and should not be conected to any wirless or eathernet internet routers.

Wireless internet

Basicly the wireless router needs to be connected into the internet, then you will be able to connect to it. You need to install the card and make sure it works in your device, then connect into the router and it should work fine.
