Will not come on.

I left mine plugged into my truck with the power off for the last month. Now when I try to turn it on it will not come on. Have I burnt up the battery? Where can I take it in for repair?

    My GPS never come on

  • Anonymous Apr 25, 2008

I did not use the Magellan for about 6 weeks. Now, when I plug it in and turn it on, it only stays on for about 30 seconds. It gives a low battery message and turns off.

How can I replace the battery? The retailer I bought it from says they can not repair it. Thank you.Helene Billeci

I'm having the same stays on for about 20 seconds and then goes black. I didn't leave it in the car or plugged in for an extended period of time. It was in my purse for a weekend without being used or charged though. Any thoughts?

I was driving to Connecticut one Sunday morning and car charger was pugged into my Mastro 3100 GPS. Soon after I started I saw the message that battery os too low, I kept ignoring it because I knew the charger was plugged in and working since the green light on the charger was On. And as you might have guessed GPS died and never came back on. Does the USB port on 3100 also charge the GPS if connected to a computer?
Radio Shack wont do anything about it.

My Magellan Maestro 3100 also had the same charge/power problem. After long non-use, I sometime had to charge it for an hour or so before it kicks-on. After having it for more than 7-8 months, I think my unit will not hold a charge. If you follow the owners manual and also try Magellan's website suggestion: , you may want to ask for an RMA for return. I am hoping that it's just the battery. Since I am new to the greater DC area, I had to buy another GPS, while I wait Magellan's repair. In the meantime, I am trying a GARMIN. If Magellan can fix it, at least our family has a backup.

GPS units should never be permanently left in vehicles. The vehicle interiors get way too cold or hot depending on the climate you live in and is very damaging.

Try taking it indoors and connect it via the supplied a/c wall charger and see if it turns on.

Hey Stephan P. and others... - 1994 Ford F-250, Turbo Diesel, pre Power Stroke - hard to start, maybe a minute or more?

Does it have dual batteries? A friend of mine threw 3k$ at his, then found out one of the batteries were low or had a bad cell. It was turning over for a long time, and we never suspected them being at fault. Like 2 750 or 850 CCA batteries. Have yours tested at a parts store to rule them out.

My LG 42LV4400 has a red light in the bottom left corner but it will not turn on.

2 month and already quit? OK: first thing to do is to unplug TV off the power strip or wall outlet. Wait for a few minutes and plug the set back into the power source. Try to turn on the set manually, by touching sensors or buttons on control panel. some TVs have push buttons, some touch sensors. If your TV was set to "auto power on" mode, then don't touch anything after plugging set in. That's the only action you can do to "revive" the set. If you will be able to turn set on manually and "free standing" without any external connections, except power cord, check your remote control unit. 95% of consumers turn on their sets via "clickers". In case of complete failure, you might have month or 10 month left of factory warranty, depend on price you paid. Use it a.s.a.p! If needed. There is no magic button to heal broken circuitry.
Good luck,

Try to press the power botton in the same time you plug the charger, after this action mine is working and charging perfectly, maybe this is the "reset" solution... Hope this helps you.

Bleeding power steering pump

Just did mine...unplug 2-3 of your plug wires so the vehicle doesn't start but turns over. Turn over motor a few seconds then refill power steering resevoir. Repeat until resevoir quits needing fluid...replace wires and drive slowly turning steering wheel from just short of all the way right then repeat to the left. This will get the air out of the lines. Check the fluid after this last step.
