Our direct tv remote won't work with this tv.. Apex & Direct have given us 7 codes, none work.

For the Apex 4088, choose Astar brand. Enter code: 11531.
If this doesn't work, 11548 or 11738

I spent an hour on the phone with Comcast. I just got the 40" Apex (4088) and the code 01376 worked for me. I have the grey Motorola box and the grey universal remote with the red "OK" button in the middle. They also suggested that we use 00476, 00810,00276, 01187, 01254

Look for Astar brand. The code 1434 worked with my ATT Uverse remote.

I would suggest you try and use the codes Direct has given you for Zenith, Goldstar & LG tvs. There a good chance that's who made the tuner in your tv. Hope this helps.

I was just reading everyone’s comments regarding not being able to find the Emerson LC320EMXF 32′ LCD TV code for the Comcast DC50X Digital Transport Adapter. I’m using the Sylvania code of 11864 and the Comcast DC50X remote seems to work fine. Hopefully it’ll work for you as well.

Programming my directv remote to operate this tv, codes dont work
I just programmed mine by using my direct tv remote...
Go to MENU on the direct tv remote
Then highlight HELP & SETTING and press SELECT.
Press SELECT on Remote in the left menu.
Simply follow the onscreen instructions to program your remote. IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE YOU HOLD ON AND SEE THE GREEN LIGHT ON THE DIRECT TV REMOTE FLASH TWICE, otherwise it won't work....which is what I think is happening in your case. Good luck.

Direct TV remote does not control TV on/off or volume.
I have the same setup like you. Direct TV and Emerson LCD TV. The Direct TV remote stores a limited amount of codes and none worked on my TV. Sadly it's not something you can update. They seem to only stick with the popular codes. Welcome to the "head of the curve" like me. lol

I have a APEX AT3208S 32" TV and I just subscribed to Direct TV, when I programmed my remote to the Direct TV, i have to use 2 remotes, one to turn the tv on and go to Video 3 and the other to switch...
The direct tv remote will control all of your electroincs set that one up for all of your needs ...codes for tvs in the direct tv book! make sure you change the selection on the remote!

My TV's backlight isn't functioning correctly how can i fix it? When i turn it on the back light flickers from the bottom to the middle of the screen back and forth, then stops for a while. The backlight remains brighter on the bottom of the screen and very dim at the top especially the left top corner. The bottom has a bar of brightness which as i said flickers occasionally from bottom to middle rapidly but the left top corner remains very dark at all times.
