the water level sensor is disconnected but probably bad and needs to be replaced. This is possible to be done by you but I like when they do it, any thing happens you have there insurance to make repairs and be responsible for property damage.
I also had this problem, it was the automatic anti-flood device, the upper spray arm water pie was leaking into base off unit which operated the anti-flood device.
Hope this is of some use to you and others
if applaince does not start draining then there is a possible fault with the door locking assembly, and the appliance thinks the door is open and this will not allow the appliance to start
Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.
Can you tell if it's filling with water. The first thing it does is fill with water (usually on a timed cycle) before the pump starts. If there's no water in the tub, it obviously won't wash dishes, since a dishwasher is nothing more than an enclosed pressure washer.
If it does not fill with water, you may have a bad fill valve or the timer that turns the fill valve on may be defective. You DO have the water turned on, RIGHT?
There are two ways that dishwashers generally fill. One is a float inside the tub, the second is a tube which fills with water, loops and goes to a pressure switch below the machine. That switch is usually about 1.5 inches in diameter, two wires and a small hose going to it. The float witch is found below the float in the motor area. With the float, sometimes they jam with too much old detergent or food goo. Clean out. Both can have the switch weld closed. Change the switch in either case. Since the unit is not filling with the power off, I'm going to guess the water solenoid is okay.
HI THERE - I ALSO INHERITED A D41 - I HAVE JUST FOUND - SITE WHERE YOU CAN DOWN LOAD INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR MANY INDESIT PRODUCTS - I NOW HAVE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR MY D41 NICELY PRINTED OUT - SEE www.indesitservice.co.uk hope this helps you too - Helen
you need to check the inlet walve . when you start the unit you say it drains. so after the drain do you hear the water entering the dishwasher? If you hear a sound like a buzzing noise that would be the inlet valve working. if thats the case there is a clog at the screen in the valve not allowing the water or enough water in the tub. seeing that this is a portable unit you will also want to check to make sure the fill hose is not kinked up anywhere in the cabinet or under neath the dishwasher. If you hear no buzzing noise you need to check the inlet valve with a meter to first make sure your getting power to it and that the valve itself if good. check these things out and let me know what you found and we can go from there
