It will help in directing to the best source for you for purchasing carbon brushes for your Hoover washing machine, if you indicate the country where you reside. You can add that information in the Comment box.
Note: Questions come into Fixya.com from all over the world and it can be hard to guess what the best resource for the right information.
Without knowing the country of your residence, I did find Hoover washing machine carbon brushes sold online (USA web sites):
I located one web site which carries carbon brushes, however the company is located abroad. It would make the search easier if you the washer make and model.
It is likely that the Carbon Brushes of your Bosch washing machine need replacement. Get them from your nearest Bosch Spares stockist (P/N: 154740) Replace these on the motor armature, and it will be alright again. To be certain that it is indeed the Carbon brushes, open your washing machine and look on the motor (opposite side of the pulley) There has to be 2 grayish chalk type brushes running on a copper armature, these brushes have a lifetime of about 4 - 6 years before being diminished.
Hope this helps

Dear customer,
Error 30 (on Hotpoint) just means the motor isn't working. Several things, including the power module, can cause this. The most common cause though is worn carbon brushes. There is also a 7.5 amp fuse on or near the power module, which can blow. This fuse is on the motor circuit to protect the circuitry of the power module. If it blows, then the motor won't work and you will get error 30. If it has blown, it's likely to be caused by the motor. I had one last week where the armature in the motor had shorted to earth which blew the 7.5 Amp fuse.
I have the same E6 error code and violent movement when in spin. have tried to level and such with the same results. Always acts like it's majorly unbalanced
