If it has been dropped by someone, it needs a new capsule, but first check the wiring and shielding on the cables and plugs.

It's a condenser mic, so I suspect you aren't getting power to it. Make sure the phantom power is turned on on the mixer.

Look at the manual, the Beta 87A can be mounted on several shure microphone series. The shure web site has manuals for free.

Very doubtful this is a proprietary part. Look online at the Nuetrik and Switchcraft catalogs and you'll likely find it.

Hello again..it's possible, just possible you have a fake beta 87a. A knockoff. Compare the physical characteristics of all your beta 87a's.

Possible cause...microphone dropped on the ground.

Or possibly the capsule is fried from too much spit getting to it thru the windscreen.

Or possibly a short in one of the 3 pins/wires located in the housing where the xlr connects.

Hi, the metal cover unscrews and then the head pulls out. The XLR on the bottom has a small grub screw that should be screwed IN, then the xlr comes out.

The shure sticker are printed perfectly on the case and the mic it self.

And definitely they sound better.

Measure the voltage comming of pin2 and pin1, or between pin2 and pin3. If you donot get 48 volts the 8801 is bad. check your cable to make sure that pin2 and pin3 are not shorted. If you still have problems you can call Pro Line Music we ae a shure and at dealer. 215-736-8055
