The screen for my Toshiba 32AF41 is tinted yellow. I don't think it is a problem with my Dish Network satellite feed because my other TV is fine. Also, I tested a DVD and it also comes up tinted yellow.

It looks like you have lost the signal for the 119 satellite from your dish. Are you getting an error message, either 002 or 015, saying the satellite signal has been lost or acquiring satellite signal? First, check the cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. You can also run a check switch test to see if there is a problem between your dish and receiver.

Press the Menu button on your remote. This will bring up the Main Menu on your TV screen. Input the numbers: 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish). On the right side of the Point Dish screen are 3 buttons. Select the Check Switch button. Within the 2 large boxes are satellite numbers and green or red boxes. Make a note of the satellite numbers (should be 119, 110), the trans, the device, and switch. Super dish and alternate should not be checked. Select the Test button on the bottom of the screen. If a box pops up with a warning about TV 2, select Yes. It will now run the check switch test. Let it complete the test. After completion, the screen will automatically go back to the Installation Summary screen. You may get a message stating that the Check Switch test has found fewer satellites than previously detected. If you get this message cancel out of each screen (do not save the results) till you are back to the TV screen and it is acquiring Satellite signal.

If you don't get that error message, see if the information on the Installation Summary has changed. Then select Done on the next 2 screens and cancel out of the others till you get the message, Acquiring Satellite Signal. After it finishes acquiring satellite signal and downloads the program guide, see if you are getting a picture - try different channels. Hi myname is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post and whenyou move the receiver you always want to make sure all connections are in thesame place. The SAT feed coming into the house will connect to the SatelliteIn, and your TV connects to the CH4 CH3 on the back of the receiver. IF coming in via, the "Dish" networked receiver, please check that this volume is turned way up, on the TV. and then control the the Volume, with the Dish Remote, often this is a problem, as one is turned down, and the other cannot turn that up, simply try syncing the Volume controls, UP on TV, control the Audio with dish remote. thats all i can think of. Check by feeding a signal IN from an AV, source, ie: Yellow, Video, & Red& White, Audio. Turn TV UP and check, IF it responds to this all is well. If NOT then you do indeed have a fault, with the TV.

Have you tried channel 3 or the video input channels.
The Tv only needs the one channel that the signal from the box is sent on.
All the viewing channels will be changed through the satellite box.

a satellite receiver has its own coloring components inside it, if mixtures are not mixing properly. try that satellite receiver with differant tv. some with the tv,

Most likely you are connected to your TV via component video (green, blue, and red). The first thing I would check is the red cable making sure it is plugged in all the way to both the TV as well as the sat rcvr.

Why are you getting upset? maybe it is the way you ask the question.

You connect the Dish network to the Toshiba to the TV.
JACKDENNISON;; Everything is compatable if connected in the right way.....

My first inclination would be to check the picture tube, especially if the set is over 7 years old. If it is not that, then anything from bad solder connections to capacitors or a defective IC could be the cause. If it's over 10 years old, replace it. No use flogging a dead horse.

it sounds like a b+ cap going bad and is intermittant that feeds the the video drivers on the crt pcb or the crt is shorting. I have seen intermittant shorts in crt before.
