How to tighten chain on black and decker cordless pole saw

A properly-tensioned chainsaw chain should still be just a little loose on the chainsaw guide bar, but the chain needs to be tight enough that you can't pull the drive links out of the bar nose.

How do I put the saw on the pole

1. Remove battery from chain saw.

2. Separate main handle from chain saw

power head by pressing both release

buttons on main handle and pulling

apart. The release buttons are just in

front of the trigger.

3. Align rib on chain saw power head with

groove in power head adapter on pole.

4. Slide power head into power head

adapter until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release

buttons on power head adapter must be

fully engaged.

5. Align rib on handle adapter on pole

with groove in main handle.

6. Slide main handle into handle adapter

until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release buttons

on main handle must be fully

engaged.

7. Slide battery onto main handle until

release buttons "snap" together.

Be sure the battery is charged.

To extend the pole:

1. Loosen the clamping

lever. Pole will slide

freely.

2. Pull inner pole section out to desired

length of extension.

3. To lock pole in position, tighten clamping

lever.

I need a recharger for a DESA Remington brand 18v battery for a Remington pole saw model number BPS188A . The charger has the model number of 121397-01 for a RB18V BATTERY PACK NICD 18V

Yea go to Remingtontools.com and search for your part there. Their model #'s are different so search by finding a new saw and using it's # to locate parts from it.

Battery fully charged but pole prunning saw does not work at all poles are connected properly

You do not mention the model number.
Honestly, I had never used a pole saw, but I needed to cut down a lot of tree branches and Black+Decke worked wonderfully. With it being cordless I could easily walk around my entire yard without worrying about it. The chain does loosen after cutting through several limbs, but it's super easy to tighten back. It's easy to assemble.

Hello! I have a Black & Decker Cordless 18 V Pole saw and I need a replacement chain. In the Instruction manual it's listed as: Replacement chain # 62338200 I can't find it in any site.

You need to know the size pitch and brand of the chain. See if it has a name on it anywhere. It may have a pitch # stamped on the side. My remington uses a Oregon chain.

Check the chains at walmart and see if they look the same. You may find a cross ref on the package that will give you another part#

Another option is to replace the bar and chain with a new Oregon Replacement Bar & Chain Combo kit.

See this site for examples.
