Question about Akai LCT3201AD 32 in. LCD Television
SOURCE: akai lct3201 power problem
If they're repairing it under warranty have them send you a box..
There is NO substitute for their repair policy - ie: you can't just take it into a local shop and have them do it, the shop will never get paid and most know that...

the mlt169c appears to be a direct replacement for the original. I fixed on of these by simply replacing the caps. Previous to this it was flashing the red light just like yours. Anyway if ya wanna give up i'll buy it for 50 bucks :)

SOURCE: Blinking red light
It appears in all cases that the power supply needs to be service. The blinking light might indicate that there are shorted parts or the voltage is low or a combination of both.
The solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]

Thanks for being so patience.
As you said, the local tech already inform you regarding the Supply Board. If i talk about the cost of supply board available on discounts would cost you 100-150 bucks depending on the model.
Now, in order to fix that, it's a time consuming job. Even a tech would take more than 2 hours. So, if you decide to DIY, you need to have a voltmeter as well to check if there is any other fault. The capacitors/diodes might be at fault alongwith supply board. If you are not well equipped with electrical systems, you might break rather than make.
If you call a tech, he would charge you more than 300 bucks ( Usually $300-500 ).There would be certain hidden charges they would charge ( Reviews as Per most of the customers ).
Let's even imagine you spent 300 bucks. Who will gaurantee that it would work? It might cause an issue after few months. That's electronic item and once it asked for repair , every time and then it would hurt yourr pocket and you would agree.
At this point, when it's confirmed that it's supply board / y /z fault, i would advise you to invest in new LCD. Atleast you do not have to worry for the next few years.
I understand your frustration, However, this would be the best solution.
Still, if you want to repair that, you can purchase service manual from :-
Sometimes, you might find a used boards ( Working, rare but sometimes available )...
You can also check few sites like :-
And you can contact them in regards to your model............
I hope that would assist you to take your decision.
