For a quick check, look at the front of the receiver and make sure you have speakers "A", "B" or "A+B" selected. there will be a small icon on the front display to confirm. If you still have no audio, check output from the tuner (make sure your antenna is connected. If you still have no audio, post a comment and I will help you troubleshoot deeper. Hope this helps.

It was working but there's no sound to my speakers from my naka michi RE - 3 vintage

If there is no sound coming from your speakers connected to the Naka Michi RE-3 vintage receiver, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Speaker Connections: Ensure that the speaker wires are properly connected to the appropriate speaker outputs on the Naka Michi RE-3 receiver and that they are securely attached to the corresponding terminals on the speakers. Verify that the connections are not loose or damaged.
2. Speaker A/B Selection: If your receiver has multiple speaker outputs or A/B speaker selection options, make sure the correct speakers are selected and enabled. Check the receiver's front panel or remote control for speaker selection buttons and confirm that the desired speaker configuration is chosen.
3. Volume and Mute: Ensure that the volume on the receiver is turned up to an audible level. Also, check if the receiver or remote control has a mute function enabled, and deactivate it if necessary.
4. Input Selection: Verify that the correct input source is selected on the receiver. Use the input selector buttons on the front panel or remote control to cycle through the available input options until you find the one connected to your audio source.
5. Test Different Inputs: Try connecting a different audio source (such as a different device or source) to the receiver and see if there is any sound output. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the current input or if it is a broader problem with the receiver.
6. Check Speaker Impedance: Ensure that the impedance of the speakers matches the recommended range for the Naka Michi RE-3 receiver. Using speakers with an impedance outside of the recommended range can result in low or no sound output.
7. Reset or Power Cycle: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try resetting the receiver to its factory defaults or power cycling it by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
If the issue persists after performing these troubleshooting steps, it may indicate a problem with the receiver's internal components or circuitry. In that case, it is recommended to contact a professional technician or Naka Michi customer support for further assistance or to schedule a repair.

I have the bd230 5.1 system hooked up the speakers, attached the power cord and hdmi cable from receiver to the tv what else do I need to get sound from my tv I have a hd cable.box do I need to run a cable...

The home theater box performs the production of the sound generation. Also, the theater box, distributes the sound to any display devices like TVs, Music MIxers, DVDR, VCRs, ext. The theater box also has connection ports that are recognisable as receptacle area from speakers, woofers, and twitters that combined to form the home theater of devices acquired. First, start by connecting the component parts of the theater system to the box. For example, speakers to an area on the box, twitters, woofers. At which point, the box would require a power cable to an electrican circuit to display functionality mode. The next step is deciding on which display reciver would be providing sound to the theater setup of blasters. For example, choosing to acquire sound from a TV set is achieved by connection cables that derived sound out of the TV to the theater box. E.G. The TV audio output area provides the connectivity of any external audio blasters like with the theater setup. Using the appropiate audio input output connection cables to acquire sound transfer matters. The device may not have been provided with a TV audio input out cable of connections. Acquire from retail input output cables from TV to theater boxes. Remember that, the theater box may have come with a remote control that require separe operations than the TV. The theater system theraafter would require power on buttons if any separate remote controls were acquired as well. Also, the television set would require alteration settings with the remote control. Adjusting the TV sound settings to acquire or direct internal sound to an external setup infrusture is possible explanation also achievable with TV REMOte controller soon after every wireing cables have been established alos powered on to source of current. The sound goes off intermittently

Forget Sharp's defective speakers. Connect your sound output to powered stereo speakers and disable the internal speakers (look through the TV's menu). The operator's manual explains how to disable the internal speakers. You'll be able to control the sound normally (mute, volume) with a remote control.
I connected my stereo output (2 RCA plugs) to an old boom-box and I get better sound than with Sharp's built-in speakers.

I have two AIWA SX-WND7 speakers. From the back of each speaker there is one black/blue wire and one black/white wire. Can I attach these to m PC, or do I need a free-standing tuner, or what. Sure would...

Your Aiwa speakers are passive units and need considerable power to drive them to a reasonable volume level, comparative to the output of a PC.

The sound card of a PC produces a reasonable quality output but in the terms of power is a very modest output which is why the usual speakers used with a PC are active types - i.e. have a self contained power amplifier, usually driven by a remote power supply.
This type of active speaker is designed to connect via the headphone/speaker socket and still produce a good quality sound. This is possible as the speaker's internal amplifier is built with a particularly low impedance input that matches the low output impedance of the PC headphone output that would be unsuited to be connected to the average hifi amplifier.

Many PC sound cards have a Line Out socket that would be suitable for connection to many hifi amplifiers.

I have no sound coming out of the speakers

Does the stereo have a switch in the back that switches between Amp and Pre-Amp ? Some units mute the high level speaker output if it's switched to pre-amp mode in the case where you would use the RCA jacks to route the low level audio to external amplifiers. I can you further if you give me the make and model. Also, good info could be found on details of your unit at www.crutchfield.com.
