My Hp pavillion dv4 notebook pc's screen is flickering quite badly. It happens every few seconds and everything seems to jump up and down once and go back to normal. Tapping or hitting screen or any part of the computer doesnt work.

Flickering is a back light issue, jumping around would be caused by the screens reaction to a bad inverter and so would the backlight as well. So flickering backlight and jumping would be a inverter issue causing both problems so I would replace them both.

Hello, that sounds a motherboard problem...
Try to do this first :
1- take the battery out and disconnect from power
2- press and hold the power button at least 10 seconds
then put only the power cable not the battery and try to boot...
If this dont help...your motherboard needs to be repaired or replaced.

Usually this means u have a damaged led panel or panel ribbon connector try a new LED screen first try ordering from Amazon get the numbers off the back of the screen

it sounds to me that you may be having gpu (graphics processing unit) overheat issues when your computer overheats the first thing that happens mostly is the screen my flutter or shake a little you may want to have your laptop cleaned inside out and this will help your problem just make sure that your monitor is not bad because this to will cause the same problem ! i hope this helps!
