Question about Canon Elura 65 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I have a Canon Elura 65 mini DV camcorder. When I open the tape cartridge cover, the carrier mechanism flips out in order to insert the tape. However, when the tap cartridge cover is pushed back against the carrier and the carrier moves to its correct position, instead of the carrier then lowering the tape into the camera to engage the tape spindles, it sounds a beep and ejects (flips) the tape back to where it was when first instered. No matter what I do, it will not lower the tape. However, with no tape in the carrier, the carrier lowers down and seems to do what is should. I have tried different tapes to no avail. This problem started immediatately after I accidentally dropped the camcorder.
I had this problem and I only ejected a cassette. I tried new and old cassettes. Same result as you experienced.
What I did and I again don't condone striking electronics as a means to repair them but, at the advice of another post and having tried everything I could think of, I stuck the bottom of the camcorder with the palm of my hand several times and it worked. I don't know why it worked and it really shouldn't have but it did.
I think the real problem is a cleaning/lubrication and ultimately should see service by a local trusted shop. Try it I had nothing to lose and it worked for me.....
