Only Hearing Sounds on One Side of Headphones

Either when I'm just using the computer and listening to music with the Edirol UA-25 plugged in, I can only hear things on one side of the headphone. And whenever I speak into the mic, or playback audio recorded with the mic, I can only hear things on one side of the headphone too. What's wrong with my Edirol UA-25?

Even when I record with Adobe Audition 1.5, it only shows audio movement on one side of the screen..Don't really know how to explain, but it's not the headphones.

    Thanks though

Wtf, he doesn't have busted headphones, thats normal. the ua25 has stereo in, that means the two inputs are for left and right channel. To experiment, hook something up to the first input and start making noise and listen through your headphones, youll hear it out the left side, now unhook it and hook it to the second input, now youll hear it out the right.
Youll want to apply a mono effect to the signal ...

Can get signal from UA-25 to computer... but no audio from computer to UA-25?

Here is one solution uninstall the default driver or roll back driver. Restart your computer. When you get into windows wait for everything to load and then plug in your audio device. If you have it plugged in when windows starts then it will install a driver. In automatic updates you can select to notify of updates, but lets you install the ones you want.

Do not get MIDI signal via EDIROL UA25

Midi is data only, there is no actual sound to the midi tracks themselves. They need to be assigned to either a software synth or an external synth to actually make the sounds you want to hear.

For instance if you load a demo of a midi sequance you will need to add a software synth such as the TTS-1 or Roland sound canvas which are general midi compatable and will play the instruments sounds assigned to the demo's midi channels. Use the Synth Rack feature in Sonar to open one of them. Then you will need to assign the output of each of the midi tracks to that particular synth and you will get sound. Make sure to assing the synth's audio track to you UA-25 as its audio output.

I would suggest reading in the manual and following the tutorials included in the manual to get yourself familier with how this is all done. spacer.gif

The output is coming out of the wrong side of the headphones (i.e., suppose to present sounds on left, comes out on right headphone)

You will need to reinstall the drivers

If that doesn't work...you will need software that allows you to invert the sound.

Digital in out

The ada800 gives out 8 channels of ADAT, the edirol UA-25 are only stereo opticals and not compatible with the ADA8000 as it does not have any adat inputs or outputs.

Edirol UA-25

A computer has line out and that means sound out from the computer to your speakers. A line out can also be connected to a recording device or a pair of speakers with an amp built in. Line in on a computer can be used to record audio from other equipment such as a Dj on his decks to record his set. It can also record audio from mp3 players etc. Line in can be used for mic's and also you can use mic in as well. To record any audio onto your computer use line in. Line out can also used for headphones and the mic will plug into mic in so you can talk online.

"digital in" led flashes instead of burning constantly

Sorry, i'm new to the UA-25 as well, but from my understanding, if you are using a digital signal device and it is connected properly, that indicator should be steadily lit. IF you are NOT using a digital signal device and it's flashing, it's because you have the button pressed when you shouldn't have it pressed unless you want your sound to loop through the computer and come back to your headphones.
