You need the STK392-150 ICs not the 040s. The 150s seem to hold heat well and stay cool.
Sounds like a convergence IC issue. are the red and blue colors out of alignment making it look like 3 images? If so you need new Convergence ICs. You wil need two of them they cost about 10.00 each They are STK394-040 you can get them at the following link. It shows a picture of your ICs

Mine also looks like a 3d movie. It is the same model as yours. Did you replace those IC's and it worked?
