The first thing to try is a new lamp. There should be an orange or red tag on the left side of your set that has the lamp number on it. The number will look something likr BP96-01434A. It probably won't be this exact number but will have that sort of format. Google "DLP lamp" and you'll find numerous sites that sell lamps. Shop around for the best price.
On 2006,7 USA models DLP, this means lamp shutting off unexpectedly. Which could be a bad lamp, lamp driver(ballast), or loss of 'on' signal from engine. Lamp or driver are more common. I'd guess ballast if lamp looks good and is newer (less than 1000 hours on it.)
If its flashing red repeating groups of three then the lamp door is not detected .
If its flashing in groups of four then a fan is not starting.Look in the vent in the back and spray some canned air into then big fan on the left(looking at it from the back) .That fan may be failing and has gotten to a place where it can't quite start again and just moving it a little with some air will make it work for a while.
If its not one of those two things let me know.
If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.
if it's the lamp led that is orange, turn off the projector for a minute and try it again. if the lamp goes out and the orange led comes on again, replace the lamp and reset the lamp timer.
hey there is sounds like your tv is trying to tell you to replace the lamp the lamp is running out of mercury gas and is starting do give up I recommend you get a new bulb
Hello Fonzell!
Regarding the tv turning, my question is, do you hear a clicking sound? if so, it's most probable tio be your ballast, that might not have enough voltage to keep on with your lamp, and that's why it shuts off.
You could try replacing it and seeing if it resolves your issue, I believe they're running around 70 dlls..
have a great one ! :)
DLPs have flow chart trouble shooting techniques to pinpoint exactly why your set isnt completeing the boot sequence. If you would like the service manual for your model let me know and i will post a link where you can purchase a complete one.
