If you have burned a DVD-R disc with FreeDVDBoot for PS2 Slim and are getting the "No data found" error when trying to play it on your console, here are some steps you can try:
Verify that the disc is burned correctly: Make sure that you have burned the disc correctly and that there are no errors or issues with the disc itself. Try burning the disc again at a slower speed, and use high-quality blank discs.
Check the file structure: Make sure that you have followed the correct file structure for FreeDVDBoot. The files should be placed in the root directory of the disc, and you should have the "INSTALL" folder and "BOOT.ELF" file.
Check the compatibility of your console: Make sure that your PS2 Slim model is compatible with FreeDVDBoot. Not all PS2 Slim models are compatible with this exploit. You can check the compatibility list on the FreeDVDBoot website.
Try a different exploit: If you are unable to get FreeDVDBoot to work, you can try using a different exploit, such as FreeMcBoot or SwapMagic.
Take the console to a professional: If you are still unable to get the exploit to work, it may be necessary to take the console to a professional technician or repair shop for further diagnosis and repair.
Remember to always follow safety guidelines when working with consoles and discs, and to use caution when modifying your console.
PS2 has a special laser that reads DVD or CD media differently. It can be "bad" in a way that some work and others don't. Cost of laser replacement is too high, buy a cheap core unit and game on.
Is that the only disc you seem to be having the problem with?? If so try getting the disc repair kit and using that. I had the same problem with mine but it was only some of the discs. The ps2 slim can be very sensitive and even the slightest defect in a disc will cause it not to recognize there is even a disc there.
Have you tried cleaning the lens? using a DVD disc cleaner or a cotton bud and some methylated spirits.
If that doesnt fix it the lens is knackered, common fault on PS2 consoles.
ps2 can play dvds but xbox needs a store bought xbox dvd remote to play dvds the ps2 slim and the ps2 normal have a lot in common so thwere is not much difference, but the slim has a fliptop lid and the fat ps2 has a open and shut slide drive. If I were you I would get the slim because it is the only one you can get brand new nowadays. The xbox may have halo 1 and 2 but sometimes there are freezes on certain xboxes.
harpy_125..yes they do .but you do need an old version memory card to memorise your games. does it play music cds . if so it should read the games as these are only cd and not dvd..
yeah, that happens on mine sometimes. IT happens on both the ps2 regular and my madden 07 for psp. I thin it's probably just trying to do too much at once, and slows down because the processor isn't powerful enough.
How do I find the laser
