My copier is getting paper jams - Sharp AL-1655CS Copier

does the paper lift when u insert the paper tray? If it does the clutch that turns the pick up tyre prob faulty

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your copier
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the copier
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your copier

There may still be a small sliver of paper somewhere along the paper path. It only takes one small piece to interfere with the mechanism that detects jams and causes the copier to stop working. Since the copier gives you an indication of where the jam is occurring, I would focus my attention in that area, removing trays, using a small flashlight to get a really good look inside.

Under included device open and close the lid. Unless throw, see the condition a sensor entry and leaving the paper - can be the sensors conk. Good luck

It could be a few different reasons the printer is jamming.
The pickup rollers could be worn; There could be an obstruction in the paper path the fuser could be bad
It all depends really on where the unit is jamming (Ie where you have to take the paper out from)
If the copier starts to work, and then gets an error but no paper travels into the unit the pickup rollers are the likely culprit.
If the paper stops somewhere in the middle of the copier, then an obstruction within the paper path must exist or some other internal failure.
IF the paper jams at or in the fuser then yes the fuser is the problem.

most copiers that have lcd screens, should you show you where the paper is. sometimes it may take getting down to look under a couple of guide plates. or just roll some of the rollers to get the paper to come out. all it takes a minute piece of paper to be sitting on a sensor for it to throw the paper jam message.

Open ALL paper jam locations on the machine. The jam code only means the paper jam is somewhere BEYOND the paper drawer. Check ALL jam locations including duplexer, bypass, and ALL paper drawers.

It sounds like the paper jam is in the fixing assembly, and you can not access it unless you take it to a service center for canon products.

canon i960 -three flashing orange lights (paper jam error) but no paper is jammed. The print cartridge will not slide to center either-- I have tried to get the printer into service mode, but cannot get there because the orange lights never stop flashing.
