I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5 camcorder and am using the software that came with it (Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E for SX/SD) to transfer files from an 8Gb SDHC card to my PC.
I've selected the source and destination folders, after which an application popup appears ("Information is being obtained. Please wait"). But . . . nothing happens. Task Manager shows HDCopy.exe is using 0 CPU, but the popup hasn't gone away.
Does anyone know what's happening?!

You should run the camera in to a camera repair facility, and see what they think. I would think a ribbon connector might need reseating, which would require disassembly. Get an estimate before having it fixed, since it can be high.
Good luck, and hope this helps.
