The sequence of events for furnace operation is -

Fan purge for 30-45 seconds. During this time, a pressure switch is actuated by the running of the purge fan, proving the control board the purge fan is running.

After purge and purge prove, the hot surface ignition and or spark begins. After a few second delay, the gas valve will open. The control board then monitors for flame prove through another sensor located near the burners. If there is no flame within 3-5 seconds, the gas valve closes. It will repeat this process, usually 3 times, before it shuts the system down, which requires a power down of the system to reset.

I have seen trash get into the hose between the purge blower and the purge switch. But you could be having other problems.

After one heat cycle, the blower motor keeps running, even after cool down is complete. The furnace will not refire until i turn off the power and wait about 20 minutes for a reset.

your limit switch is opening up, that causes constant fan. Check for flashing codes after flame shuts off and fan continues. Check airflow, filters, lack on return air for possible hi temp limit problems.

Hello. I have a Goodman furnace model no. GDS80453AMA. The furnace indicator light is blinking 3 times, which according to the schematic, is "pressure switch stuck open". Previously I've had the furnace...

The pressure switch requires a negative pressure (vacuum) to close the contacts. It is measuring the pressure in the inducer and indirectly ensure there is good combustion airflow throught the heat exchanger. Check for a small vacuum, in the neighborhood of 1" water column. Usually the vacuum required to close the switch is stamped on the vacuum switch. Check the vent pipe for obstructions and correct size and installation.
If the pressure aka vacuum switch does not close the furnace will not continue with ignition, for safety reasons.

Goodman GS9 propane furnace inducer motor runs continuously

it sounds like the low temp limit switch, the one that cools the furnace down with the burner off and the thermostat open, when it cools to a point the fan stops, the other switch in burner area turns burner off/on, hope this helps

Furnace will not shut off after the setting is reached. have changed thermostat. Temperature reading goes down on thermostat, furnace still runs. Model : Goodman furnace,gmh95/gch9

Check if your thermostat is set on 'o fan' setting.
If it is, trey to set it on 'Auto-fan' instead.
since it seem as if the heating does go off, only the fan may be running continuously.
this is possible if the thermostat is incorrectly set or installed.
good luck.

Will not turn on when set to automatic. when switched to on position no hot air comes out of vent.

If you are talking about the switch on your thermostat, "On" and "Automatic" refer to the fan. In the "Auto" setting, the fan only runs when the furnace is running, in "on" setting, it runs the fan constantly. Your furnace is not firing for some other reason, the on/Auto switch is working properly.

I have outside Goodman-Janitrol furnace and air unit and

two things to try first to get you pointed in the right direction. First disconnect the R or RH wire from the T-Stat. If the furnace turns off (Stops firing w/ fan to turn offabout 90 sec. later) then you more than likely have a bad Thermistat. If it continues to run Pull the R wire from the Furnace circuit board. put door back on furnace if it stops you have a short in the wire. Still Running? Most likely a bad curcuit board. Hope this helps.

Goodman a/c blower fan will not shut off

Unhook the thermostat wires on the furnace. If the blower shuts off then your problem is either the thermostat or the thermostat wires. If it contiues to run check you high limit switches next. If all else fails you most likely have a bad blower relay. On most modern furnaces the blower relay is part of the circuit board.
Good luck
