Blurry print Hello: I'm experiencing blurry print from my OfficeJet K60 printer. This happened a few weeks ago and I ran the Clean Cartridge function from the Maintenance menu and that worked. Since last night, it's back! I ran the Clean Cartridge function again without any luck. Any suggestions? Thanks!! Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

Clean the plastic ribbon with the thin black lines on it that runs from the left to the right of the printer near the cartridges. The thin black lines are used to keep track of the position of the cartridges.
If there is grease or anything else on the ribbon, the photocell mounted on the cartridge carrier can not keep track of the position and your prints will become blurred.

I have installed new cartridges but the status panel keeps telling me to remove and check colour cartridge

Reboot your PC , unplug your power and usb / parallel port and see if this clears the message. Run a "clean cartridge and align paper" also
Did you buy refilled ink cartridges, 'cus if so, this could be the problem,
Sometimes it happens to me also, hwen I buy those refilled cartridges but I just ignore it and it prints, scans and copies, even if that error message is on the front screen.

I bought a new color print cartrige and since then my printer align cartridge keeps failing so I can't use my printer. I have reincerted them many times and ran the align cazrtride and I get the same thing...

Sorry to ask a dumb question but did you remove the protective tape on the cartridge when you installed it? If yes, then proceed to the following HP help page where the align cartridge error is outlined along with several solutions. Best of luck!

MAGENTA NOT PRINTING

The other week I had the black print head clog up, requiring daily nozzle deep cleaning [a normal 'ocassional' maintenance function]. Thought I needed a new Print head, so anything worth a try.
I loaded up an old black cartridge [I load all my own......always have] with Isopropyl Alcohol and ran deep clean on that cartridge a couple of times, then repeat printed [6 times] a page full of the number 8 in about half inch character size, to get the alcohol through the nozzles. then Deep cleaned again 3 times, to wash it through the print head.

I reloaded the normal ink filled cartridge and ran the '8' page again till I got good black output. It has now been working without problem, daily, for over a week. Clearly if it's a Magenta only problem, the cleaning as described above would be a bit different, as the magenta is one of 4 colour cartridges.
My printer does quite a lot of work, and was bought at least a couple of years ago, being used daily for alpha numeric and photo printing work. This was the first difficulty I experienced with it.
Hope the above might help.Ken

How to change ink cartridge officejet k60

What you need to do is open the lid of the printer and the cartridge will roll to the middle and you'll see the ink cartridges and all you have to do is pull out the desired ink cartridge that you want to replace and put in the new one. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Prints blurry every other line with black color

Hi,

Is it the ink cartridge contacts you already cleaned? If so, then you can also clean it using the tools menu from the printer panel:

-press setup menu, then go to tools
-select clean print cartridge and press ok
-it will print a test page. If the printout is good, you can try printing again.

I hope this helps.
