It's probaby a setting issue when you go to print. When you start to print, a check box for "Proof" will be in the print dialogue box. If that's checked, it prints graphics as x-boxes. Uncheck it and try printing again. That should solve the problem.

How can I print proper legal size documents in pagemaker 7. my printer is LJM1005. can anyone pls. help me on how to print documents in legal...

I don't know about pagemaker 7, the HP LJ M1005 should allow you to select (US) 'legal' paper size.
I would this is done by (having first installed your printer) from within pagemaker, or at least Windows (if you are not using a Mac) selecting 'File' from the menu bar at the top of your screen, and from the drop down menu select 'page set up' and then choosing 'legal' from the drop down menu (box) which is for paper size.
See p58 of this document (software reference guide for M1005) for illustration -

My files are created in adobe pagemaker now I want them to convert in jpg or pdf format how?

1. Save the Pagemaker document. If you don't do this before proceeding, a pop-up box will remind you.

2. Go to File>Export>Adobe PDF. A dialogue box of PDF options will come up.

3. Determine what you want to use the PDF for. If you are exporting for a specific print job, the printer will give you Distiller settings. Otherwise, in Job Name, just choose the settings that most closely meet your requirements: High Quality Print for a printout, Smallest File Size for a document that will be viewed online.

4. Click "Export." An "Export PDF As" dialogue box will pop up. Choose the folder in which you wish to save the PDF, and name the file. Check the "View PDF" box, so the PDF will open after it has been created.

5. Watch the dialogue box. It should show that Distiller is creating the file. When finished, the PDF document will open.

Good Luck!

Dictionary does not support in pagemaker 7, i will try to custom installation with dictionary but it does not work. What i can do

This works for me.
It only works on documents that you have created by launching Pagemaker 7 (windows 7, 64 bit) as administrator (Right click on icon and choose "run as administrator". Spellcheck works for me on all such documents but not on previous documents not launched as administrator.

How to save in acrobat .pdf ?

PDF (Acrobat) files are a great way to make sure documents are viewed with the correct layout and fonts - even when the recipients don't have the program you used to create the documents. It's also a format that is viewable across multiple platforms. In order to create a PDF file in Windows you need to be using Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
Open the file you want to make into a PDF.
Choose File, then Print.
Use the PDFwriter option when printing from a word-processing application: Choose PDFwriter from the Name pull-down menu in the Print dialog box. Fill in the document information, then click Save.
Use Acrobat Distiller option when printing from a page layout or design program: Choose Acrobat Distiller from the Name pull-down menu in the Print dialog box. Fill in the document information, then click Save.

When i am giving a single page printout it will printout another copy of blankpage

Please open the document, There is probably a second page added to your word document.

Open the file, go to page 2, press backspace.

When you select print option, now check how many pages its showing for printout.

If its showing one page then your file is perfect now.

My hp laserjet 2420 printer won't print out my bottom text of my legal size document. when i preview my print it cuts off all text at 9.5'' . what's wrong? my margin's are all set to 1'' and i customized...

Do NOT use customized paper. Set your paper tray to LEGAL paper. Set the tray as LEGAL in the printers setup-menu. Make sure you choose LEGAL in the printout-dialog-properties. Then it should work. Good Luck.

How to fix the blurness of the image in pagemaker when they are enlarged

I don't think you can in PageMaker. The blurring occurs because of the nature of the images you're probably using. They are made up of a set of small blocks of colours (pixels). If you increase the size of the image, the blocks just get bigger and it turns blurry.

Your two options:
* Sharpen the image - you can use free software like Picasa. This can be used to fix blurry images, but isn't ideal.
* Resample the image - this is the better solution, more pixels are added as the image size is increased. You need proper image software like photoshop or paint shop pro to do this.

I need to make a booklet. so when i print the document it be read like in abook

Hi, I dont actually use PageMaker, so you might need to check your help file for more info.
Basically you need to look for an option that lets you 'impose' your document (there may be a tool box or print option for imposition).

If you cant find it just do the imposition yourself.
For a simple 8 page A5 booklet you would want two A5 pages side-by-side on an A4 sheet of paper.
Back cover would be on the left (pg8) - Front on the right (pg1).
Inside front cover on the left (pg2) - inside back on the right (pg7).
Then the centre pages - right (pg3) - left (pg6)
Inner double pages - left (pg4) - right (pg5)

Hope that helps!

Translate a pagemaker file into indesign

This is from Adobe InDesign (CS3) Help module:
Convert PageMaker documents InDesign can convert document and template files from Adobe PageMaker 6.0 and later. When you open a PageMaker file, InDesign converts the original file information to native InDesign information. InDesign files are saved with an .indd filename extension.
For more information, see the PageMaker Conversion Guide (PDF) at www.adobe.com/go/learn_pmconv. Before opening the document in InDesign, you may want to do the following:
  • If the PageMaker file or its linked graphics are located on a network server, floppy disk, or removable drive, it may not open as expected if an interruption in data transfer occurs. To prevent data transfer problems, copy documents and their links to the hard disk, preferably in the same folder where the PageMaker publication is stored, before opening them in InDesign.
  • You may want to use Save As in PageMaker to clear unnecessary hidden data.
  • To ensure that all links are maintained, copy all linked files to the same folder where the PageMaker publication is stored.
  • Make sure that all necessary fonts are available in InDesign.
  • Repair broken graphics links in the PageMaker publication.
  • If you have a problem converting a large PageMaker document, convert portions of the PageMaker file separately to isolate the problem.
If you cannot open a corrupt PageMaker document in PageMaker, try opening it in InDesign. InDesign can recover most documents that PageMaker cannot open.
